momus wasn't banned. he left before registration and i think before anyone was genuinely banned (or temp banned). becky lucas was the first time i can remember mod consensus that 'action is necessary' but they didn't ban her (they did do some cool thing where there was a message that said 'don't engage w/ becky lucas' that showed up for everybody but b3cky luc4s). they did some clever things w/ c4lum also, like he would be starting threads and they would only show up for him. he did change his username like crazy so maybe he was quasi-banned. pre-registration it was very difficult to ban someone. i'm trying to remember if strongo banned anyone or if he just deleted threads.

huh, so used search function and it looks like momus basically stops posting really in autumn 2006, november really but it looks like september 2006 is the last time he posted "like normal". there wasn't any heated discussion or critical moment. he mentions starting a new blog and starting threads there instead of here because less ppl disagree w/ him there. he pops up very sporadically after that. as far as i can tell this is his last post - list junk food dressed up for yuppies who are too smart for junk food

ran into his tumblr by chance recently when i was gis-ing howard devoto

momus surfaced in the marie calloway fucking a famous writer story and it was weird? because i think of him as a grizzled old british man that posted on ilx much the same way as i think of "martin skidmore" or "mark sinker."

i learn from tumblr he has a new song called "electric dionysus."
