I feel like shit, cause a great deal of the tension was provoked by me. How many ways are there to say sorry?
I hate feeling like an asshole for trying to give someone the benefit of the doubt. Especially when you're proved wrong in the end.
Two more days of work, and then it's nothing but rest and relaxation for the next two weeks. Boy, rest and relaxation will be good.
Sarah McL, come back and post kitten pictures, PLEASE.

I love reading iLX as most of you are incredibly intelligent and there are some great debates that go on around here. And as for the humour, well you guys are just too much. I often get strange looks from my colleagues as I burst into fits of laughter at my monitor.
I kiss you ILX, and I hope that those who are stressed can get rid of it all by partying hard offline at Christmas. Those who aren't, well party hard anyway.
I'm gonna be sat here in work for most of Christmas so I will be logging into ILX more often than usual, so please continue to keep me entertained with the usual banter. (but less arguements please)
(pretty please?)

I haven't done laundry, so I'm sort of dressed up and everyone is asking me where I'm going. I'm getting a little embarrassed saying it's just because I'm a lazy slob, so I'm trying to think of something fabulous to tell them, but it's not really working.
"I'm um.. going to a premiere tonight, yeah... no wait, Tom Hanks' Christmas bash... yeah! Um, no, a get together at the Playboy Mansion, yeah.... OKAY NO, I JUST HAVEN'T DONE LAUNDRY YOU VULTURES! GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME TO MY SHAME!"

Do you ever post things and no one replies to them so you feel like you're talking to yourself?
My shoulders are all tense from ILX today and yet I'm still here. What is my problem? No wait, don't tell me. I can hardly take asides or one-offs/ I could definitely not handle someone telling me my problem directly.

And guess what, everyone? I like getting compliments and I don't think anyone here is fake nice to me. And guess what else? I AM CRAZY! I AM CRAZY from reading this crap today. I am full of happiness in my personal life and Christmas joy and all sorts of fluff and I want to come on here and be happy with other people.

But between the huge frappicino I had and my meds I'm all a-tremble.
Sorry, Sam. Maybe the criminals will learn something from the school papers or perhaps decide to go into teaching.
my friend across the hall suggested the criminals were doing me a favor and contributing to my overall good mental health by taking the students' work off my hands. ;)
I once had a kiddo tell me she lost her paper after someone broke into her mom's car. Now I buy such excuses.
Came in this morning and reminded the vice-principal of my friend at Fox news who'd love to do a story about the disrepair here. (cieling tiles falling out, broken windows going weeks without being fixed.) He promised to at least get the jagged pieces removed and told me I could hold class in the library if we got too cold.
Six hours later and the glass is still there. *sigh*
Oh and have good holidays to everyone who won't be around for while. (see even being the grinch i am, I can wish others well. must be the coffee ;) )

Though I'm morbidly curious. Somehow you always want to know what's going on and who hates who and who's having a tantrum. But doing the reading to find out is depressing.
I've gotten in the habit of telling my dad I love him. He may never respond to that and may think I'm an oversensitive idiot (hm, not entirely wrong there). But so the fuck what. It really did scare the shit out of me when, just for a few minutes, I thought something had gone wrong with his surgery (hospital misinformation).
I've been listening to an Elizabeth George book on tape. It's pretty good, I like what I've read of her mysteries. I have another suspense/mystery thing (an airport-novel type book) but the writing or the expression or something just seems too crude to me.
My mom had picked up a novel for me a few weeks ago that turned out being a really really bad romance novel, and it was just hilarious. The sex scenes were just priceless--they were trying to be all sexy but not too detailed. Implied sex in books is fine. Explicit sex is fine too (quite). But writing that attempts to be in between can be really comical sometimes. Bad writing can be really comical anyway, I suppose, especially when it's describing sex. I don't write all that well myself but I am nonetheless a snob.
I need to come up with library ideas. If anyone has suggestions for authors who write compelling stuff that is kind to those with a limited attention span but which is decently written so as not to inspire disgust... email me (hotmail username j_bdules) or whatever. Taste is a variable thing of course, but suggestions help.
I frequently have a hard time finding books I like anymore. I am a concentration-limited grump.
Anyway, hi all! NA, "yams" sounds cool.
