I have no idea who Brian Askrud is, but he builds a playlist every year of new/current music in multiple genres (no metal or country, really) and it's gargantuan: http://open.spotify.com/user/baskrud/playlist/1e6dqkAfmZzRBrQj7hg915

idk know how you link to playlists on here, but the New Yorker has a Sasha Frere-Jones curated playlist called 'eight hours of fogotify', though it is only apparently 7 hours 20 minutes. I also have a fogotify playlist called 'fogotify' that is 11 hours and 55 minutes, but has zero followers compared to 165 for the S-F/J one, but what can you do

Brian Askrud - Spotify user profilehttps://open.spotify.com/user/baskrud
Brian Askrud must be the most hyper organized NON spotify employee on Spotify when it comes to new release playlists.
I notice that he has been snapped up by Sony Music (from previously working in a sector completely unrelated to music)
Head of Playlist Strategy / EditorSony Music EntertainmentJanuary 2016 – Present (2 months)Stockholm, Sweden
Ecommerce Project Manager / Product OwnerOriflame CosmeticsAugust 2012 – January 2016 (3 years 6 months)Stockholm, Sweden
https://www.linkedin.com/in/baskrud
He make be working for Sony now but is still adding independent artists and other (non sony) major labels artists to his personal account playlists.
Based in Stockholm i am surprised that he didn't end up at Spotify.
Who Owns the Editorial Voice on Spotify?http://www.newslangmedia.com/major-label-curation-brands-who-owns-the-editorial-voice-on-spotify/
Sony’s curation brand Filtr has 3.6m followers globally across 48 profiles, the vast majority of which are localised by country, but a handful of which relate to catalogue type (e.g. Filtr Legacy) or playlist theme type (e.g Filtr Workout). Add to that a further 285k followers to profiles branded either Sony or sub-labels such as Columbia, RCA and Epic, and in total that’s about 3.9m Sony/Filtr profile followers.

John Corbett (not the actor), who's been in the art and music worlds in Chicago and has one of the largest record collections of anyone I know, started making monthly mixes during lockdown, each with its own theme. Lots of good playlists.
Also, oddly, The Row's monthly playlists have a lot of deep cuts by familiar names, and consistent all around.

This thread is such a great resource.
I just discovered that a bot on Reddit makes playlists out of the most popular contributions from each music subreddit.
I haven't looked at them all, but I am sure that the post-punk subreddit is great.
Just search "r/" and you will find a lot of playlists.
Here is the link to the one for "r/goth":
