been listening to 'IV' a lot recently ..
(i know its not the real album title, but thats all i can recall)
no idea re the rest of their catalogue, but i cannot deny i like their new prog thing.
however, do i need more ?
i suspect not.

Which IV? From Fear or No World? I was really into Vol. 1 when I was younger and only recently started to appreciate Vol. 2.

the cardboard sleeve just has a massive 'IV'on it, so just assumed that was what the album had become known as ..

Just curious. I've been starting to appreciate all the stuff that I didn't care about before (except for Year of the Black Rainbow, which I can't get into).

This is the most cursing I've ever heard in a Coheed song, and I wonder if it is indicative of what we should expect from this album.

oh lol i was going to rep the afterman and then saw i did upthread. i think it's kind of their best record after second stage turbine blade at this point

excited for the new record, doubly excited that the new song kinda sounds like boston/the cult

you have the first volume of good apollo i'm burning star iv, which is the fourth chapter of the series

the second half of iv is called no world for tomorrow. it is less good but still pretty ok

if you want more songs in line with the record you're digging, i recommend in keeping secrets of silent earth:3 and also the afterman

but yeah it's a very representative record, even though the last four tracks on good apollo i'm burning star iv from fear through the eyes of madness (christ) are the proggiest they ever get

I think that Vol. 1 might have been their most popular album? It's pretty good, and he's totally right about In Keeping Secrets.
As far as the story, I think it's the end of that story arc with Claudio? It's either the end or close to the end. Year of the Black Rainbow is a sort of prequel and Afterman is Sirius Amory.

one thing i really dislike about good apollo iv vol 1 is uh how misogynistic it is? and it is literally the only coheed record like that

sigh, I want to love this but the ludicrous length + lack of variation are brutal to me, idk why I'm surprised cause it's their whole thing much of the time but it still bugs me. once I figure out a ten-track edit I'll probably love it.
