A couple of moments there where the cat briefly considers whacking his buddy the guinea pig because he cannot reach the squirrel.

We watched a TV show once about a car salesman from Newark, DE who lived in a studio apartment with a Kimodo dragon that he let run loose. It ate him.

Wait. What?

I'm sorry - not a Kimodo dragon. SEVEN Kimodo dragons.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:32 (eight years ago) link

Also my college boyfriend lived in that apartment complex.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:33 (eight years ago) link

Wait monitor lizards! Sorry. Whatever point is some dude in Delaware was eaten by lizards.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:34 (eight years ago) link

HORRIFYING

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:38 (eight years ago) link

eh, no worse than cats

Upright Mammal (mh), Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:40 (eight years ago) link

Pretty sure a cat would eat you if you were already dead. Though keeping massive lizards AND cats is what freaked me out about that story - hopefully they were separated somehow b/c I bet a monitor could kill a cat.

emil.y, Wednesday, 5 August 2015 13:44 (eight years ago) link

Yeah there was a story about a dude that died alone in his apartment and wasn't found for a couple weeks and when he was his two pugs, who were starving by that point, had started eating him. :(

Pretty sure a cat would eat you if you were already dead.

this is because cats are considerate.

just for the record, i don't think you can really domesticate a komodo dragon

A variety of behaviors have been observed from captive specimens. Most individuals are relatively tame within a short time, and are capable of recognizing individual humans and discriminating between familiar keepers.

Even seemingly docile dragons may become unpredictably aggressive, especially when the animal's territory is invaded by someone unfamiliar. In June 2001, a Komodo dragon seriously injured Phil Bronstein, the then husband of actress Sharon Stone, when he entered its enclosure at the Los Angeles Zoo after being invited in by its keeper. Bronstein was bitten on his bare foot, as the keeper had told him to take off his white shoes and socks, which the keeper stated could potentially excite the Komodo dragon as they were the same color as the white rats the zoo fed the dragon. Although he escaped, Bronstein needed to have several tendons in his foot reattached surgically.
