It's rare for old-ish groups not to look awkard/weird/sad in pics, but that Culture Club one is great. As soref points out, the Jon Moss scowl is eternal, and the others look completely alive.

The New Order one is typical: stiff, lifeless blokes in shades (only Gillian looking awake).

Jon Moss may scowl(ish) in photos, but he mugs like crazy in videos.

According to this post, the guy sitting down in the Dead album cover photo is Bill Kreutzmann.

...they were bitching and griping about having to stand out in the street looking like that, getting their picture taken. That's why it came out so well! Billy got so pissed off he just went back and sat in a doorway. We were at a bus stop and he was actually going to get on the next bus!

Who's not playing along in the Wilburys?

I see two alternative options:

* The guy on the lower right refused to wear a white shirt.
* The guy on the upper right didn't want to dye his hair black.

Though TBH it looks like the middle guy and the guy on the upper left are the only ones who're really playing along: they look pretty much identical, right down to the hairstyle and beard. The left guy's shades are the only distinguishing feature.
