I don't understand why developers bother putting ranked matches in games if they're going to just let people disconnect from them

are you you hyped for the pc version or your just like whatever by this point, nhex?

Still kind of hyped, but I haven't actually touched the game since I last played it in an arcade like three or four months ago. I'm an SF fan for life, so I'm definitely going to play it at some point, but my hopes of playing it with a larger community are more or less dashed. Who knows, maybe a PC version will open it up some, but it seems so far down the line that, like usual, there's only going to be a relatively tiny hardcore few left still playing it.

I'm still playing pretty much every night. Player data says I've already put in over 47 hours!?! Funny thing is, I still feel like I've barely just started.

lost two rounds to a ken who'd jump back into the corner then continually jump back heavy kick and sweep and sometimes buffer ultra/shoryuken, mostly because the netcode makes it hard to go from a standing to a crouching block sometimes

weird - I just got Battle Fantasia on friday (still haven't played it tho). Definitely planning to pick up the new KoF and BlazBlue for complete fighting game overload.

yeah me too, I'm going off it cos it's too frustrating and don't want to end up bitter like those^^ dudes

the netcode in this game can be a dog in some games; it's horrible

- you can't switch from a high to a low block quick enough
- you can't block, e.g. full screen blanka balls on reaction
- you get wacky moves because the game drops your inputs
- you can't reversal because it drops your inputs

blanka, c.viper, rufus and akuma have gone up and up since then. c.viper is considered the 2nd/3rd best char in the game now

Hopefully some online fixes are coming soon. I don't think it's ever going to be perfect, obviously. My main complaints are still with the fight browsing method (which is seriously broken). There's always going to be some lag, but honestly, out here 85% of the matches I haven't been able to notice it. Haven't had a problem with other players really... though I don't wear a headset and keep the volume low on my TV so if people are taking, I guess I'm just not hearing 'em. Anyhow, it's easy to ignore that stuff. I've slowed down on my playing though (as I'm trying to mostly get better at STHDR). I wish the game kept more detailed stats.
