Cool thanksMy o/h was organising a stag do for his brother and emailed everyone with the date and vague plans but not full addresses or timetable etc. he also said not to tell the groom as it was a surprise what they were doing.
One guy got on the train to the city it was in, a week early (before everything was firmed up) realised he didn't know where to go after getting off the train, rang the groom to ask. smh

Hi Lisa, I know you haven't asked for anything for the newsletter but I came across the following in "Popular Mechanics" and thought some of them were hilarious. You could use these as fillers in upcoming newsletters. Phrases You Never Want to Hear in a Person's Workshop: Squinting is the same as wearing safety glasses. This all-in-one stain and polyurethane is probable just as good. I threw the owner's manual away years ago. So bulky! You're telling me I should have measured the opening for the door before we built this part? Don't waste your time I already measure that. Golly, that saw is waaaay too loud. You got to smell this glue. Epoxy can't be that hard to get off. Why shouldn't a belt sander work on a bunion? Those were my good decoupage/sewing scissors. Oh, here it is: The instructions say we should open the windows.....two hours ago. Pilot holes are for sissies. Please don't tell me we missed Ellen. Some articles for you: SCROLL SAW SPLINTER GROUP The group will meet Saturday, July 25th, 9:30 AM, at Woodcraft South. The discussion for this quarterly meeting will be an explanation why Rick Spachek had gone over to the dark side. The "dark side" in this case being the use of spiral blades. We have not talked about spirals for some time and seems like Rick has mastered them. He will go through the different sizes and their uses, different manufacturers, and how he is using them. This promises to be a fun and information discussion so we hope to see you there. Don't forget to bring your latest projects to show us what you have been doing and your questions. VETERAN TRIBUTE A couple of months ago we issued several veteran tribute ornament patterns to the club. We asked people to make a few of these to be given out especially on Memorial Day. These ornaments are given out all year long. This activity is being coordinated by Rick Googleproofenstein. So far this year Rick has collected and given out 230 ornaments! That is a wonderful number and I am sure these ornaments have made many veterans feel good, but we need to do more for them. It would be so nice to reach 500 by the end of the year. If people would just make three or four stacks of these ornaments, we could do it. If you need the pattern please contact Rick Googleproofenstein at hoss7318@y... or Norm Nutjob at scrollsaw@... I am out of state until after the meeting but if there is anything you need, let me know. Norm

this from a manager at "myonsitedj.com".
Hey guys!
I meant to send this email to everyone yesterday, but I had left my notes at home.
Here is just a quick recap from everything discussed on the conference call on Tuesday night.
Ryan Jones:Communication with brides/ client: please respond to an email, text, or calls I (Ashlee) send you within 24 hours; so I can get back with the bride at a timely manner
Training: know what is going on. If you have any questions/ issues Ryan Jones will be happy to help. Don't wait until the day of the event to ask questions. You can take a VMS home to practice and become more familiar with the equipmentEquipment: Ryan will pack your equipment, but it is your job to double check that you have everything you need
Music Paperwork/ Generic Summary: I will print or email you the paperwork for your final consultation with the bride. On the Wednesday before the wedding, I'll print off the paperwork once more with a Generic Summary that will include any information needed: equipment list, venue & address, client, etc. While I will always email & call you with any important songs added to the playlist after your consultation with the bride {which does not usually happen}, but please check the updated paperwork.DJ is the lead person at each event, so please do what he asks.
Ashlee:Clocking in & out: If you don't have the Timestation app downloaded on your phone, please email me. I'll set an account up for you, and email you a link to download the app. Clocking in and out is important, it delays the process of cutting checks when we have to go back and see who did what event and the hours. {We all want to get paid without delay, right?!?}It's understandable if you forget to clock out once in a blue moon--it's happened to everyone--email or call me if that happens & I'll make the adjustment. Please don't make it an everyday habit.Paychecks: Everyone will be able to pick up their paychecks during office hours (9-5) on Fridays. The next paycheck goes out on July 17, so y'all can come then to get your check. Paychecks go out every two weeks, so y'all can do the math and keep up with the paycheck schedule. Please remember that the pay period is two weeks behind, so the paycheck for July 17 is cut for the dates worked of June 22-July 5th.If your check has been sitting in the office for two weeks, it will be mailed to you. Please make sure that we have your current address.Taxes: If you have not filled out the "Independent Contractors Application" you will need to do so for tax purposes. You can fill that out at the office when you pick up your paycheck.
Handbook: We are working on a handbook, and will let you know when it is ready. Everyone will need to sign that they received the handbook, and you can do that when you come to pick up your check {after it is ready}.
Communication: This is very important!!! If I email, call, or text you please get back with me as quickly as possible. I actually haven't heard back from some of you with emails that I have sent at the beginning of the week....so please get back with me today... Email is the main tool that I will use to talk with you, so please email me back so that I know you have received the email. When I was planning my wedding, it made me VERY nervous & even scared if it took awhile to hear back from a wedding vendor--so I always get back with a bride asap to answer any questions or concerns. If I don't hear from you, I can't get back with her--which makes the bride {and me} very nervous! Of course, if you are out of town or something I will make her aware of what you have going on; and that it may be later before I have her answer. If you're assigned to a gig, you are made aware in advance and have made a commitment to working this gig. You are expected to follow through with the gig :)Final Consultations: This wasn't discussed at the meeting {but it is important!} If you are scheduled to call a bride or client please make sure that you follow through with the call. If she does not answer, please leave a message so she knows you called from a number other than the office; and what number to call you back at. If she does not call you back, let me know and I will try to reschedule with her. Please write me back and let me know that you have received my email. Thanks!

Beau *******Jordan,
I didn't listen to the whole track, but I did skip around a bit to get a feel for it. It really depends on the event. This kind of stuff would be pretty rare. I doubt you'll have a gig anytime soon where this would work well. However, it may be more useful if you mixed it a bit with something else.Sent from my iPhone
