It's god damn criminal that the crispy taco plate doesn't come with cheese and sour cream automatically.

At first, I was all oh lawd Trayce, pasting this whole damn email.

But then he slips in that "Ever notice how the Jews run Hollywood?" bit before continuing along with his happy little get-rich promotion, like catching when Mandrake switches the top hats for a sec.

Don’t just think about making more money.

Think about all the things you’ll do with the money.

Will you buy a bigger house?

Pay for your child’s college tuition?

Free yourself from the talons of Zion?

Buy a car for your daughter?

Travel around Europe?

Go to university?

Start a non-profit?

not misdirected, but sent to a meetup list of 5000 people who play pickup soccer in nyc

Good evening Ladies and gents, tonight I have to go on a bit of a rant. I just got an email from one of our members. I will place the entire dialogue below. Before anyone gets the idea of sending me dumb shit like this, check yourself. I’ve been doing this for a very long time now. It’s taken me a long time to find something that actually keeps most people happy. I’ve also put up with a lot of bullshit over the years and I’m about over it. For the foreseeable future I will only concern myself with one game not two. I will send an email later in the day reviewing how we play and what is expected of players when they decide to play with us. If anyone feels like they have something they need to say, there will be a thread on the groups message board. (This is for those who play at the parade grounds)

(e-mail from player)

You should be ashamed of what you done in the last few meetups. You should divide the game fairly; people times are worth more than your worthless child play.

MAN UP, and act like one. Your childish attitude on dividing the teams are only something could come up for high school kid, although I had better experiences playing with them.

I reported this to NYC Parks and Meetup.com, charging members for money (even if it's a dollar) and not providing the service is an illegal act and you will be punished for it. I will see you next Saturday with NYC Park security to see your face when you got kickout from playing at any NYC Park forever.

(My response)

Look here you little bitch. Do not threaten me. The way I divide the games suites everyone involved. If you don’t like it, don’t come. This meetup has always been for intermediate to advanced players. We accept beginners but the game is not geared towards them. I divide the teams into more advanced players and those players who are not capable of playing at the level we play at. Occasionally we have beginners in the advanced game or more advanced people in the beginner’s game. When new people show up it usually takes a while for me to identify who is capable of playing at a faster pace. I used to just mix up the games completely; do you know what happened then? Everyone started to complain. The more advanced people got pissed because beginners would drastically reduce the quality of the games. Beginners would get frustrated and intimidated because the more advanced players would constantly be yelling at them.

You also have some fucking nerve because you weren’t even on the list to play. There wasn’t even supposed to have been a second game today. I only planned on having one game. I brought extra gear just in case stragglers would come looking for a game, Stragglers like you. The meetup allowed 12 players from the site and the rest would be filed by the regular guys who have been playing with this group for years.

You are also crying over a 1 dollar fee? Do you know what those dollars are used for? Do you want to play in smelly pinnies and use terrible gear? I didn’t think so. We don’t have a permit and if you would read the description, we don’t ever claim to have one. This meetup has been done on the fly from the beginning and it will stay that way. Make sure to come with parks department, I’ll see you on Saturday.

"smelly pinnies"?

Figured that was the soccerball version of the shotgun formation or somethin'

pplains, Monday, 18 May 2015 15:31 (eight years ago) link

pinnies is apparently what they call the vest things you wear to show your team. in the uk we call them bibs.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Monday, 18 May 2015 16:02 (eight years ago) link

oh, got it.
No offense to anyone but organized central park footballers/soccer players are by and large self-serious sneermachines

pick up teams are whatever of course

american soccer players are all really awful people on the pitch in my experience. took two years of searching to find a game not dominated by sociopaths.

I really want to know more about this person. All I can imagine now is that it's 1) a man and 2) he's very tired.

Hi Tom,

It's that time of year again. I am sending my app into the church tomorrow for the craft fair. Does the Club wish to do it again this year? If so, I am willing to coordinate it through Friday night. I will be out of town for the next two weeks but please let me know what the Board decides.

Is it possible to run a 3.5" cube of wood through a planer, safely? I want to make one of those cube within a cube. I have a chunk of cedar but it needs to be squared up.

Thanks,
Norm
