Everybody's fuckin with ghost peppers right now. I feel like we've jumped several iterations of heat in a very short time. Sriracha is so mid to late last yearpart. GHOST PEPPERS, BIIIITCH.

It’s a 3-step ordering process.

Awesome, their drive-thru window already takes ten minutes to get through, I'm sure this will help.

I have the taco bell app now. Recommended if you enjoy the gaze of a bored teenage cashier as you walk directly to the sauce packet cache of an empty taco bell.

has it occurred to mcdonalds that there's a vast number of their customers who have never been to a chipotle?

no one goes to mcdonalds to fine-tune their source of protein. They want a burger, some fries, maybe some nuggets. Playing 20 Questions in the drive-thru is just going to piss people off.

I thought ghost peppers were supposed to, like, incapacitatingly spicy. What are these false fast food ghost peppers?

circa1916, Monday, 4 May 2015 20:33 (nine years ago) link

Wendy's has ghost pepper cheese fries, I think Jack in the Box is doing a ghost pepper burger. I'm guessing they're mixing a tiny amount of extract with a cream sauce that will keep it from really burning your mouth.

got ghost pepper "cream cheese" on my bagel at a vegan grindcore coffeehouse once, I dig spicy but was not a pleasant experience imo

franklin, Monday, 4 May 2015 20:47 (nine years ago) link

def a "you can brag to your friends that you ate this garbage" criteria to many food lab inventions that fake ghost pepper toppings fulfill

Sufjan Grafton, Monday, 4 May 2015 20:48 (nine years ago) link

ah, yeah. i was deceived by the wendy's ghost pepper cheese fries because it has chopped peppers on it. apparently those are jalapenos and the ghost pepper is the sauce.

glad that's settled.

Because ordering from Subway is so awesome. Now you can also tell a McDonalds employee how to make a sandwich!

poxy fülvous (abanana), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 02:14 (nine years ago) link

"you see millennials crave excitement... but they also need to know that they have security, a home to go back to when the moment to cut loose has past. they want to be someone who can manage a family, have their own interest... but has to let the animal out. gentlemen, what this generation craves... is a new hamburglar. and who else but mcdonald's is going to give it to them? James, can you get the lights?"

Never heard the phrase "Kentaco Hut" until I saw Young Adult. It is pretty magnificent

Nhex, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:04 (eight years ago) link

I did appreciate the regionalisms in that movie, felt like home. Or at least one state north of home.

in my experience, the two-brand ones have a single counter where you can order items from the combined menu, whereas the three-brand ones are sometimes large enough to have three distinct counters to order from

ultimate american sock (mh), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 15:37 (eight years ago) link

I want a single, transdimensional counter that, as the customer stands fixed, whirls through space and time to access all menu lines and dayparts, past and present. Not the future, though; there'd be nothing to hope for, nor reason to keep on living.

That's great! Wish there was one for old IHOPs. I remember an Indian restaurant outside of Princeton, NJ with that old triangular style building.

there's an old KFC down the street from me that has been a taco shop for several years, they literally just today added some signage on the exterior conveying that inside tacos are for sale
