there's really not many great 2-way small forwards. Rick Barry, LeBron, Pippen. Most tend to be tilted in one direction or the other.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 04:05 (nine years ago) link

am I the only person who thinks mavs v rockets won't exactly be a cakewalk for houston?

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 9 April 2015 04:07 (nine years ago) link

it absolutely won't be now that houston is so depleted. i'd still take houston at home though

k3vin k., Thursday, 9 April 2015 04:08 (nine years ago) link

Spurs have tied the NBA record for consecutive wins by 12+ points.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 19:02 (nine years ago) link

(9)

remember how we were once again ready to rule them out

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:24 (nine years ago) link

what do you mean "we" kemosabe

Maybe in 100 years someone will say damn Dawn was dope. (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:25 (nine years ago) link

idk was a few of us even homer mod god bison was doubting

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:26 (nine years ago) link

they looked pretty mediocre compared to the top western contenders until the all-star break its true, tho racked with injuries. tho pop playing rope-a-dope not outside the realm imo.

Clay, Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:27 (nine years ago) link

parker looked totally cooked, gonobli too

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:27 (nine years ago) link

yeah we were talking about Parker being close to done not six weeks ago!

Clay, Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:29 (nine years ago) link

probably reads ilh tbh

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:30 (nine years ago) link

i take great pride in the fact that i never wrote them off

k3vin k., Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:31 (nine years ago) link

pat yourself on the back, think I've got a streak of like 7 years in a row writing them off at some point during the reg season

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 20:36 (nine years ago) link

I'm a big thabo fan but I'm not buying this "boy things just got easier for the Cavs!" thing we're hearing. Bazemore just as good really.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:00 (nine years ago) link

The Spurs only looked bad when Kawhi was struggling/injured right? Idk. They kept losing overtime games on total variance stuff.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:01 (nine years ago) link

half their lineup was hurt for the first part of the season and they still managed to stay in the playoffs in the west. it was pretty obvious that if they got healthy they were gonna be fine

k3vin k., Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:17 (nine years ago) link

wow had no idea thabo broke his ankle while getting arrested!

remember how we were once again ready to rule them out

i will always write them off and some day it will be true hopefully before i die

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:32 (nine years ago) link

Kawhi's greatness reminds me of what the Celtics could have had with Len Bias and Reggie Lewis-- a seamless transition.

my strategy as well

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:37 (nine years ago) link

rly don't think the fate of the hawks was ever riding on a backup guard, also thabo would have been low on the list of players i'd pick to get a season-ending injury while getting arrested.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:49 (nine years ago) link

thabo is bad

lag∞n, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:52 (nine years ago) link

I watch more sixers games than I should and I haven't seen this Nerlens offensive development that people talk about. I think most of it is just Ish Smith being a much better point guard for him.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:54 (nine years ago) link

every time it's a nerlens postup or iso it's the same awful awkwardness it's always been, sometimes the ball goes in I guess

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 21:54 (nine years ago) link

As the New York Knicks' historically bad season mercifully nears an end, Derek Fisher sees no reason that the Knicks can't go from worst to first in a year.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:48 (nine years ago) link

just gotta get Shved healthy

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:51 (nine years ago) link

I have a dream that the Knicks get the number one pick and Phil trades it for like vucevic and Tobias Harris bc they're in win now mode

Clay, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:52 (nine years ago) link

this is kinda a shitty year to have the number 1

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:53 (nine years ago) link

I have this feeling we may look back on the top 10 of this years draft and it will make more sense in reverse order.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:54 (nine years ago) link

I just wanna see Phil do dumb stuff but actually that trade might be a really good haul

Clay, Thursday, 9 April 2015 23:55 (nine years ago) link

Phil has been pretty damn boring as a GM, which is what they need I guess

― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, April 9, 2015 7:56 PM (26 minutes ago)

if by boring you mean very bad

k3vin k., Friday, 10 April 2015 00:24 (nine years ago) link

"boring" is not the apt description for "trading tyson chandler due to beef with malcontent star over representation" or "trading shumpert's potential as a JR salary dump"

"colossal tire fire" makes more sense imo

slothroprhymes, Friday, 10 April 2015 00:28 (nine years ago) link

it's hard to imagine what the knicks could've done to be less fun to watch.
if they lose six to eight more games, they're at least interesting as curiosities. as it is, they're "historically" bad for the knicks but not even really bad enough to be noteworthily bad in the history of the nba. they're just a garden variety shit team. there's nothing loveable loser about them.

Maybe in 100 years someone will say damn Dawn was dope. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 10 April 2015 00:28 (nine years ago) link

poor spo, he's smart, he knows it's the height of stupidity to push for the playoffs and not just start preparing for what will be a much better year next year

but riles wants what riles wants and he does not comprehend things like "not in playoffs for reasons beyond control have three rings still must prove something don't know what"

slothroprhymes, Friday, 10 April 2015 01:01 (nine years ago) link

lol taj ruined a rose floater that prob would've gone in with his attempt at a tip, bulls not looking good rn

I guess a quarter like this is prob why riles thinks his team belongs in the playoffs

slothroprhymes, Friday, 10 April 2015 01:04 (nine years ago) link

p sure spoelstra would rather be in the playoffs

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 April 2015 01:13 (nine years ago) link

all things being equal, yeah - who doesn't - but something also tells me he won't consider it an utter failure when they miss the playoffs, given what was beyond their control, whereas riles will

lol @ super cool

Clay, Friday, 10 April 2015 01:34 (nine years ago) link

would be a decent zing if I understood how what I typed was specifically indicative of a spo-riles romance!

slothroprhymes, Friday, 10 April 2015 01:36 (nine years ago) link

feel like spo could do way better tbh he's a handsome dude
