everyone on this board is rooting for the pelicans to slip in right like you are all in favor of that

Clay, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:51 (nine years ago) link

Ya kinda rooting for depressing OKC to fall out tbh and the brow deserves a couple of TV playoff games for sure

juice college (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:53 (nine years ago) link

xxp or perhaps some sort of short deal with an opt-out to be renegotiated in a year when the cap rises, like what bron has?

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:55 (nine years ago) link

okc falls out of playoffs --> brooks gets fired --> durant demands trade --> kd to wiz for .50c on the dollar --> a full year of insane russ before he splits for LAL --> the thunder are cursed and bad forever

Clay, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:56 (nine years ago) link

well kawhi is a RFA, not unrestricted

k3vin k., Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:56 (nine years ago) link

fine with either. playoff lone ranger russ would be fun but so would brow

#wegonnabechampionship (Spottie), Wednesday, 8 April 2015 00:57 (nine years ago) link

absolutely rooting for the pelis to sneak in. the result will be almost identical in the first round but the juiceman is running out of juice, which will just be depressing w dion and kanter by his side, and I think even in losses AD's play on that stage will be spectacular

i will never tire of this

Clay, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:13 (nine years ago) link

i'd rather the pelis fire their coach than okc so i'm slightly leaning okc. like clay's scenario above makes sense but i could just as easily see okc misses playoffs, gets a very good player in the draft, hires a good coach, wins the title next year, durant stays, westbrook stays, thunder remain contenders for a few years, justice delayed is justice denied in okc.

balls, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:18 (nine years ago) link

idk the coaches are pretty similar. known for their abilities to be there for their players and loved by players for that reason, but baffled by the minutiae of playmaking and game plans that resort to "uhhhhh you three guys are talented do some stuff." front offices also have similar problems although presti is starting to manage OKC a little better than the pelis roster has been devised & constructed. toss up in many ways

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:34 (nine years ago) link

muscala's playing really well with millsap out. hopefully he's taking pero's minutes in the playoffs.

Heez, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:38 (nine years ago) link

yeah presti has shown some savvy while the pelis literally just won the lottery. pelis ownership has apparently had somewhat absurd expectations for two seasons running now (like trading for jrue was a 'we need to make the playoffs now' move)(new owner plus he old about to die -> some real dumb shortsightedness), maybe they'll have enough sense to realize that o right the west is loaded though. i'm always amazed that really bad coaches can hang on so long though or that it can take so long for a guy to finally be exposed (and even then if you coach the lakers...).

balls, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:48 (nine years ago) link

lol yea and byron doesn't even have the advantage that Monty and brooks have of being liked by players. well maybe excepting kobe bc they are both complete cockbags and game recognize game but that doesn't really count.

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:53 (nine years ago) link

hawks mgmt loves muscala apparently. i was...deeply concerned about hawks play the last couple of months, they had a week w/ high profile games against the dubs and the spurs and both those teams showed up ready to play PLAYOFF BASKETBALL and just dominated the hawks, dubs being a blowout didn't concern me too much cuz korver was out it's just we didn't look like we belonged on the court w/ those guys and even w/ the win over the cavs i came away doubting we could win a seven game series against them. BUT THEN i heard kevin arnovitz on zach lowe's podcast and he said that the hawks weren't concerned at all, that they've been trying new things out for the past couple of months looking toward the playoffs and somewhat taking for granted they'd have the one seed in the east. so i'm like fuck it i'll trust coach budd. i just hope we at least make the eastern conference finals cuz if this season ends like yr average hawks season ends - out in the second round - that will suck.

balls, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 01:59 (nine years ago) link

i think w/ byron like an overwhelming part of it really is he's lakers family and the buss kids remember him from when they were kids plus his combination of dumb/arrogant probably plays well w/ jim buss.

balls, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:05 (nine years ago) link

just thrashed the suns 96-69! apparently 58 wins is a franchise record. congrats balls, heez & all of ATL.

also that's just an amazing score because I am a child

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:07 (nine years ago) link

pelis have a small lead over the dubs w/ a minute to go btw

Clay, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:12 (nine years ago) link

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:19 (nine years ago) link

i have no idea what the hell monty williams called for what was probably the most important possession of the pelicans' season. something like "stand around some, maybe pass to some guys, but definitely dont get the ball to davis. oh and the passes should be lazy."

Clay, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:20 (nine years ago) link

whooooohhhh

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:25 (nine years ago) link

that was nuts. pelis have a foul to give & warriors have no timeouts.

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 02:26 (nine years ago) link

oh jeez i've never seen a ball that far down in the hoop and pop up

The two members of Hawks who were arrested, Thabo Sefolosha, 30, and Pero Antic, 32, refused to move when police tried to set up a crime scene, the sources said. They were charged with obstructing governmental administration.
