Long time lurker, first time poster. I assume this is the most relevant thread for this but the other week I got to see a screening of the film Eden by Mia Hansen-Løve. The film is an epic-length portrait of the garage and French disco scene as seen through the eyes of a relatively successful but marginal DJ and producer as he lives through nearly two decades in the dance scene in Paris. It avoids all of the cliches of these movies and has an amazing ensemble cast (Daft Punk are recurring characters) and many cameos. This scene is not one I am particularly familiar with beyond the big names but the movie is extraordinary. It is beautiful, moving, epic in scope and chronology but also very intimate. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is in the very top tier of music-inspired films of any genre. It will be released in the states this summer and has already played in many markets in Europe. Someone has kindly turned the soundtrack into a Spotify playlist:
