Yeah. It keeps the blood boiling a little bit. I think Dennis Schroder was the one who started it here. He’s in charge of keeping the cards, since he’s the youngest right now. There’s six guys playing sometimes, and those games get really intense, man.

Al Horford is winning right now. Jeff Teague is pretty solid. Dennis is really good. He’s sneaky: He blends the 9s with the 6s sometimes. He gets away with murder. He’ll play real fast; it’s such a quick game, a guy can play out of turn if you’re not looking. Kyle Korver and I are struggling right now.

My mom’s passing away. She’s expected to pass soon. She isn’t just responsible for my basketball fandom, she’s responsible for my basketball obsession. We’ve watched thousands of games together in the past 30 years. Including three championships for our team, the Detroit Pistons. If she could speak, she’d be telling us about the time she shook Bill Bradley’s hand for the millionth time or saying something shitty about Bird, Jordan, or LeBron. If she didn’t want to be cremated, she’d want to be buried in an Iverson jersey. I’ll miss her. Needless to say, my girlfriend and I are thrilled we’ll be able to watch Golden State and Atlanta tonight. While she’s unconscious, I’m told she can still hear. We’ll complain about Kerr (“too nice”) and Steph (“too nice”) and praise Atlanta’s grittiness. She always talked about the importance of grittiness.
