the sad sideline story on DAJ's lifelong struggle with free throws crippling his confidence is some indie comedy bait

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:40 (nine years ago) link

yeah i enjoyed that

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:41 (nine years ago) link

He could always let go of his pride and attend the school of rick barry

Steph def def (Spottie), Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:42 (nine years ago) link

v talented basketball player who cannot shoot free throws and is super sad about it, uh wes anderson are you even reading my posts hello

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:43 (nine years ago) link

think what you can do with the flat staging of all your characters in a line staring at the camera, except one is tall and not-white and is wearing a brightly colored jersey, this is so you wes

Anecdote That Only Makes Us Love Him More: I find J.J. Redick, music fan, to be a fascinating character. He is an avowed alternative and indie rock listener, getting former Magic teammate Brandon Bass into Coldplay and Kings of Leon, and he has shouted out bands like Silversun Pickups and Divine Fits in interviews. But his wife doesn’t exactly share his tastes. Last winter, before he got traded to the Bucks, he took her to a Justin Bieber concert. “I have a general rule that if I have an off-day during the season that I owe it to her to do what she wants unless it’s harmful to my well-being. Her and her friends wanted to go.” Taking one for the team. It’s the Duke way.

Me otm haha

Steph def def (Spottie), Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:50 (nine years ago) link

lol at "the Duke way"

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:51 (nine years ago) link

pelicans in the 8th spot rn

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 March 2015 02:54 (nine years ago) link

if i were an nba player i would use my immense power to shout out matador records bands from the 90s that like 500 people care about, that's a weird thought.

what the actual bloodclot just happened w that series of turnovers

slothroprhymes, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:08 (nine years ago) link

the funny thing is not only do the rockets barely miss dwight howard, they got a dude who looks almost like him to take his minutes

k3vin k., Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:20 (nine years ago) link

probably a little soon to make bloodclot references around a blazers game considering the patches on their jersies

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:21 (nine years ago) link

and bosh :(

feel like bosh, wade, dragon, whiteside, deng coulda been a pretty tough team (if healthy and/or not suspended for tackling people)

Steph def def (Spottie), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:24 (nine years ago) link

woulda at least made the playoffs yeah

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:27 (nine years ago) link

mchale has a goatee about a quarter grown in and it looks really bad

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:30 (nine years ago) link

as a nuggets fan (who has always hated afflalo)/blazers secondary fan, afflalo in place of wes is so depressing

k3vin k., Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:32 (nine years ago) link

barry referred to mchale as possibly the best power forward ever which no offense to celtics fans but that seems like idk i can think of about 5-10 off the top of my head i'd take before him

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:34 (nine years ago) link

at least 3 of whom are still active in the league!

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:34 (nine years ago) link

as a blazer fan since day one of the franchise who has purely agnostic feelings about afflalo, afflalo in place of wes is hugely depressing any way.

Aimless, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:34 (nine years ago) link

whats yr beef with afflalo, kendrick lamar wrote a song abt him so he cant be all bad

xp

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:36 (nine years ago) link

afflalo vs wes is just kind of a senator you're no jack kennedy thing

idk kevin mchale was really, really good

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:38 (nine years ago) link

he's also not better than Duncan, KG, or Dirk

brosario nawson (m bison), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:39 (nine years ago) link

fwiw the mchale as greatest 4 is a simmons hot take also. never heard anybody but him make the claim before

head clowning instructor (art), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:42 (nine years ago) link

mchale was awesome but the three bise mentioned, karl malone, charles barkley, elgin baylor (i think he was a 4?), chris webber, bob pettit, elvin hayes i mean there's some guys, brow & LMA & bosh & blake & love all probably could get there in time

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:42 (nine years ago) link

also mchale was a sixth man which always seems to undercut the arg

head clowning instructor (art), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:44 (nine years ago) link

oh god what is dwight wearing

he should be honest w/ himself and just start during urkel cosplay

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:45 (nine years ago) link

that having been said i never saw him play so what do i know

head clowning instructor (art), Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:45 (nine years ago) link

I never watched mchale play really, hard to judge.

yeah some of these are fair but mchale is still prob top 10 for the moment, he made 6 all-defensive teams and shot over 60% as a forward in his prime, i don't see bosh/blake/love/lma accomplishing anything like that

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:48 (nine years ago) link

defense is a good point. i def think he's a top 10 pf, just "best all-time" seemed like uh karl malone will fight u jon barry

Clay, Thursday, 12 March 2015 03:50 (nine years ago) link

maybe it was something else then. i either lost or gave away my copy. apologies for the incorrect attribution good sirs
