shit don't let duncan be hurt

k3vin k., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:47 (nine years ago) link

the mavs are so cooked

k3vin k., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:48 (nine years ago) link

Mavs went from fun to the pits.

Steph def def (Spottie), Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:49 (nine years ago) link

rondo trade was a historic fuckup

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:50 (nine years ago) link

Dirk is totally baked :( and they are giving minutes to actual Richard Jefferson and actual Charlie Villanueva. Montas numbers and efficiency have taken a dive. Rondo doesn't care.

Steph def def (Spottie), Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:51 (nine years ago) link

in retrospect probably not the smartest thing when you have the league's number one offense and everything's clicking real good to bring in a pouty pg who can't shoot and probably doesn't want to run your system

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:54 (nine years ago) link

I don't see rondo fitting anywhere next year. Like what team wants anything to do with him right now besides the kobes?

Steph def def (Spottie), Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:55 (nine years ago) link

i can still see why they wanted to do it, since they probably weren't making the finals with that roster, but obviously it's been a disaster

k3vin k., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:56 (nine years ago) link

rondo trade was a historic fuckup

listen carefully. ainge and brad stevens are quietly chuckling

Aimless, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 02:56 (nine years ago) link

Any time you need a laugh tho just look at what the Nets will be paying joe and Daron next year (and Daron for another year after that).

sometimes, billy king sits at his desk when the team offices have closed for the night, open bottle of whiskey on the table, half-full tumblr at the ready, and looks at those salary committments, and cries three solitary tears, while whispering, "why didn't sam presti return my second round of calls. why."

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:07 (nine years ago) link

lol jesus christ the internet has destroyed me, *tumbler

moullet, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:07 (nine years ago) link

the nets roster is horrifying

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:08 (nine years ago) link

free the greater plumdog

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:11 (nine years ago) link

just started fantasizing about the mavs falling out of the playoffs and brow slipping in, but i think 5 games is way too big a deficit even if the mavs start to tailspin

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:12 (nine years ago) link

wouldnt be surprised tbh

also...the bottom is gonna drop out on RWB soon, energywise, even if only for a little while, right? like he is destroying his body and that cant be sustainable

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:19 (nine years ago) link

he is an alien so probably not

k3vin k., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:28 (nine years ago) link

the cocaine has to run out eventually

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:41 (nine years ago) link

the mavs trade was still defensible imo at least for the reason kevin said and zach lowe made a good point on the new simmons podcast which is that basically no one gave the mavs a shot to even win like one game vs the spurs last playoffs and then really almost beat them

this situation is obv different and i'd bet on them going out in round 1 but if carlisle got a match up he could work with.......? i don't think they're totally dead in the water

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:43 (nine years ago) link

it's not like the roster is *bad*

i think memphis would prob destroy them but if they caught houston?

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:45 (nine years ago) link

i don't see how you can look at how those 2 teams are playing and think the mavs would have a shot

k3vin k., Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:53 (nine years ago) link

i like how indiana has become a weird wildcard late in the season

rodney stucky had 34-6-7 off the bench tonight why

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:54 (nine years ago) link

the mavs start and give heavy minutes to two guys who absolutely should never even think about scoring and that's really a problem

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:56 (nine years ago) link

worth noting too the mavs were prob due for some regression being that they had the best all time offense, dont think u can really blame it all on rondo especially when you look at who they traded for him unless u think that wright and nelson were all that was holding them together

lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:56 (nine years ago) link

i'm wasn't saying they shouldn't have done the deal, just that it's backfired horribly. agree that regression was probably inevitable and iirc their early schedule wasn't as rough as many in the west.

Clay, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 03:58 (nine years ago) link

rondo has been terrible dont get me wrong just prob hes only one of many causes of their backsliding

lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 04:00 (nine years ago) link

if kobe bullies the lakers into giving him a big contract i will support that actually

lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 04:00 (nine years ago) link

rondo's assits and rebounds have nearly halved in dallas compared to his boston numbers this year, and he's shooting 29.6% from the line as a maverick

they also have to trade 1st rnd picks with the hawks this yr. that's a potentially 20 pick difference.

Heez, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 04:28 (nine years ago) link

compuserve and i were also at the nets/pelicans game tonight behind the basket.
the nets are not a good team. two guys had to be carried off the floor.

Maybe in 100 years someone will say damn Dawn was dope. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 11 March 2015 04:51 (nine years ago) link

Btw what Westbrook is doing is probably the most incredible thing that has happened in the NBA in the 20 years I've been following it. Were this a sport with more defined methods of measurement the conclusion that he was doping would be inescapable, but it's nice to believe in magic.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 07:43 (nine years ago) link

shit maybe russell is the real juiceman

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 11 March 2015 11:44 (nine years ago) link

but while that's always a possibility in every sport I don't get why it's an inescapable conclusion.

devils advocate: he does recover from injuries real quick, historically and this season...
