Wow, v eased w "Electric Mainline" placing

Had a v profound moment in college where I was walking listening to it really loud and it was about to rain but it was SO DARK AND GREY but for like several minutes on end and a torrential downpour was so imminent (like you could see it several blocks away) but instead there was just a humid stillness and it took forever to actually start raining and when it did the sky just opened instantly

So weird like being in a dark grey thunderstorm with no rain happening though and just this weird glow everywhere

there is a live version of Things Will Never Be the Same on the Spiritualized Let it Flow single that is absolutely smoking. was in setlists for the Pure Phase tour for some reason.

Amazing Grace is far from my fave SPZ album, but this was the best gig I ever saw them play.

I've seen them so many times on so many tours I'd be hard-pressed to pick a "best" - although often whatever album they were promoting at the time was often completely unrelated to how well they performed on any given night.

Voted for Come Down Softly to My Soul. Hits similar pleasure points as I Believe It (which I foolishly forgot to vote for), and it satisfies the gear nerd in me with that amazing Vox Continental sound...about as good as the continental sounds outside of a Fela Kuti record.

Was never big on Things Will Never be the Same. The recording drags a bit to me, and I'm not really a fan of Pierce's occasional attempts to do snarly 'tough' rock vocals. I'm not sure why Jason never attempted any more multipart 13-minute epics after "Feel So Sad". You'd figure he would have at least given it a shot in the LICD era ("Won't Get To Heaven" isn't long enough and is the weak link on LICD). Even though it wouldn't have fit with the ambient whooshiness of LGM, it takes guts to leave something as good as "Feel So Sad" off your debut album.

"OD Catastophe" was my #3 and my highest ranking S3 song. The vocals in the third verse coming in raised one octave is some "Heroes"-level drama.

People like broken heart? Huh

"Cop Shoot Cop" wasn't, enough of a 10+ minute epic?

Broken Heart was my number one. Incredible song.
