post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 March 2015 09:50 (nine years ago) link

crazy how 45 and sunny feels so warm right now. still though i cringe a little when i see how much snow is still on the ground in boston. plenty of snowbanks that are still 5 or 6 feet high.

marcos, Tuesday, 10 March 2015 15:17 (nine years ago) link

i kind of hate march. i mean it is good that it is not february but march is such a long and brutal month, there are nice days here and there but it is still winter for sure. i will feel better when i can say "hell yes it's april" or "hell yes it's may"

marcos, Tuesday, 10 March 2015 15:18 (nine years ago) link

grateful though that my SAD has been pretty mild this year

marcos, Tuesday, 10 March 2015 15:18 (nine years ago) link

One thing is for sure -- those months are on the horizon. That's the joy of March. It's early daybreak, the first birds and mud and air.

groundless round (La Lechera), Tuesday, 10 March 2015 15:45 (nine years ago) link

yea i am yearning for the mud, the ground is still frozen solid, i read somewhere yesterday that the frost permeated like 6-12 inches of ground surface. the birds are definitely back and it's very nice

marcos, Tuesday, 10 March 2015 16:20 (nine years ago) link

cycled home from work omg

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 March 2015 18:35 (nine years ago) link

three weeks pass...

Good bye March. It was a bumpy ride at times, but you're going out nicely.

Jeff, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 11:15 (nine years ago) link

Equinoctial blizzard was fun

demonic mnevice (Jon Lewis), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 12:45 (nine years ago) link

snow in the NY sticks tonight

fuck March and the first half of April

the increasing costive borborygmi (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 12:55 (nine years ago) link

it snowed all the way from chicago to tennessee a few days ago
tomorrow it's going to be 67
the next day, probably 32
whatever! that's the way it goes, up and down
the highs are higher and the lows less crushing

goodbye march, it was fun!

groundless round (La Lechera), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 13:56 (nine years ago) link

RIP March
It's sad, it was a month

demonic mnevice (Jon Lewis), Tuesday, 31 March 2015 15:19 (nine years ago) link

decent march imo

mookieproof, Tuesday, 31 March 2015 15:23 (nine years ago) link

It has been a short-feeling one at least. Having things to look forward to and plan for really helps to keep the howling blues at bay.

marcos, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 15:13 (eight years ago) link

its been like one extended march, lots of days in the 40s & 50s

marcos, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 15:13 (eight years ago) link

I've run in shorts more times than tights in February.

Jeff, Tuesday, 23 February 2016 15:36 (eight years ago) link

March

Yes!!!!

tokyo rosemary, Tuesday, 1 March 2016 12:52 (eight years ago) link

Hey Lechera, what's that cool book with 26 languages you posted a pic from?

niels, Tuesday, 1 March 2016 13:02 (eight years ago) link

You caught me while I'm still at home! On Mar 1! It's called The Concise Dictionary of Twenty Six Languages in Simultaneous Translations, compiled by Peter Bergman

La Lechuza (La Lechera), Tuesday, 1 March 2016 13:34 (eight years ago) link

Thanks, looks awesome! :D

niels, Tuesday, 1 March 2016 13:57 (eight years ago) link

mk2 got me with 'pinch punch, first of the month' this morning, but forgot 'no returns', so it had to be done.

happy days.

mark e, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 09:16 (seven years ago) link

this has been one of the mildest winters i've ever experienced in the northern US, feels like it's been march for the past month

marcos, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:06 (seven years ago) link

With occasional forays into May!

Cognition (Remix) (Jon not Jon), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:09 (seven years ago) link

yup tho it is still mentally comforting to hit march 1 & be closer to more sunlight / life / greenness returning in earnest :-)

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:10 (seven years ago) link

Woohoo! Yeah it has been very unseasonably mild here too -- I'm still glad it's March though!! That means we're a little closer to that fresh green feeling of spring :)

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:17 (seven years ago) link

Yesterday, a singing blackbird woke me up before the alarm went off. Hello there, spring.

willem, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:26 (seven years ago) link

I have pet starling so that happens to me more than I would like

Cognition (Remix) (Jon not Jon), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:27 (seven years ago) link

tbh I'll hate the bird come april ;)

willem, Wednesday, 1 March 2017 15:32 (seven years ago) link

All our bulbs and flowering shrubs are about three weeks ahead of last year's bloom times. I have an azalea out front that has no idea what month it is -- it's had blooms on it since December.

March came to Texas in January this year. Mountain Laurel has been blooming for weeks... my walks across campus are redolent of grape Kool-Aid

Living in Florida, I crave winter and hate summer.

Rod Steel (musicfanatic), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 17:33 (seven years ago) link

The feels-like temperature where I'm at is 87 degrees right now.

Rod Steel (musicfanatic), Wednesday, 1 March 2017 17:37 (seven years ago) link

It's a good month.
