feel like the east is still very winnable, and then, who knows?

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:17 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:18 (nine years ago) link

not like thats their only issue either

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:19 (nine years ago) link

basically like every single player on their team is suspect in some way even bron

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:20 (nine years ago) link

so much better than before the trades tho. they have a pretty solid 7 man rotation now. think i mentioned on here I don't mind JR for a focused half season. They could flirt with lineups and start Tristan and bring Love off the bench to overlap with either Bron or Kyrie.

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:25 (nine years ago) link

the trades got them a legitimate nba lineup, not a championship lineup imho, i say they go down to a more disciplined seasoned well rounded team

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:27 (nine years ago) link

prob the hawks

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:27 (nine years ago) link

nothing would give me more pleasure than to see them get bounced by washington in the first round, don't get me wrong

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:31 (nine years ago) link

just checking up and cavs have some genuinely awful players getting minutes wow

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:32 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:33 (nine years ago) link

marion might be able to help in the playoffs if he's healthy but he old too.

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:35 (nine years ago) link

maybe they shd take a look at baron lol

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:36 (nine years ago) link

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:37 (nine years ago) link

amongst weak links dellavedova stands out as the weakest

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:38 (nine years ago) link

i mean they cld conceivably roll w thompson and shump but neither of them can play point

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:39 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:46 (nine years ago) link

perkins haha he came in against the warriors and got two fouls (one offensive) in like 5 seconds and the coach yanked him it was beautiful. he was so butthurt.

delavadova is one of the least useful nba players ive ever seen

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 07:10 (nine years ago) link

love on a team like the Hawks is interesting, i think horford is a pretty decent parallel for him as a guy who isn't quite good enough to drag a franchise into the conference finals but in the right situation is the jack of all trades kinda number 1 scorer who can elevate a deep group of very good role players

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 07:11 (nine years ago) link

thx for all the love tonight guys, glad you enjoyed the story! I honestly hadnt even thought about it in years I guess? And I could've sworn I'd mentioned it before.

Anyways I'll say it again, dellevadova is lebron's Sasha vucevic.

Bron missing all his free throws esp the ones at the end that could have tied or won the game was really puzzling

with kyrie not playing yesterday they actually didn't have any starting-quality guards on the team, houston noticed this and made life pretty miserable on the perimeter defensively w/ariza and bev.

yeah interesting comparison tho imo horford is truly an all around player where love shines more in a couple areas where he can go high volume

@WojYahooNBA: Chicago's Jimmy Butler could miss 3-4 weeks with elbow sprain, but won't need surgery, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

almost as depressing is the ever-increasing possibility that the indiana fucking pacers, who aren't even an entertaining bad team, cough and sputter their way into the 8th seed

slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 19:08 (nine years ago) link

thibs and upper mgmt in Chicago apparently have a contentious relationship (may have just always been the case in Chicago regardless of the coach) so one wonders how much longer he can run his players down before action is taken.

would like to analyze injury rates across league for last few seasons to determine significance of thibs presence as an exacerbating factor.

i was also thinking about how reinsdorf has a rep for being cheap when it comes to his basketball team and how that might impact their training/medical facilities and staff.

yessir I believe it's isaiah canaan, recently of the houston rockets, and doing stuff like that guarantees he gets released this summer

slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 22:56 (nine years ago) link

may have just always been the case in Chicago regardless of the coach - this is true isn't it? doug collins fired after taking the bulls to their first conference finals in fifteen years, phil jackson basically pushed out a la harbaugh, and then the whispers w/ thibs going back to at least last season. when simmons put popovich in his trade value column it seemed so weird, it's not happening and it's not something there's been speculation over it possibly happening and it's not like simmons did it to work in some insight beyond 'i think gregg popovich is a good coach'. whereas thibs if you're the wizards or the magic or somewhere where you have some talent and a coaching change could have a measurable impact then it might be worth offering a late first rounder or early second rounder and chicago would probably take that offer. unlikely cuz you can just wait for a coach to resign/be fired and then get them w/o giving up a pick (plausibly you can even just start the talks and then let it leak as a means of facilitating that departure w/o tampering but having it work out for you can be tough)(this is basically what happened w/ the cleveland browns and harbaugh last year), and i can't think of any case of a coach being traded in the nba (the knicks got a pick or picks i forget for riley but that was cuz the heat blatantly tampered, it wasn't like a deal had been worked out). anyhow i remember hearing some crazy stuff the bulls management was doing in terms of having a person who decided who had to practice and how much, going over thibs head in practices, and thinking 'man wtf, dude should walk' but at the same time when i heard about butler today i did think 'holy shit thibs really is basketball dusty baker'. re: love i'm not crazy about him on the hawks and he wouldn't sign here anyway. a rumour i have heard (multiple sources!) that i know is ridiculous and not actually true but part of my brain thinks 'but what if it is' is that noah is gonna sign w/ the hawks after next season. i've actually heard it referred to as an 'open secret' (which made me laugh and go 'o rly?'). i'm not sure it's based on anything at all beyond him and horford were teammates and he'd fit. i mean it's not like they have the same agent. btw apparently al horford's agent is bj armstrong?
