CAD's comment upthread is otm, I don't think he's trying to be meh on purpose, it's a combo of being in the wrong role and being just a tad overrated

agreed btw that love should just go and be the number 1 on a mediocre team that maybe won't end up being that mediocre at one point

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:53 (nine years ago) link

its just hard to have three primary scorers on the court at the same time and he's not good enough at D to chameleon it and play another role.

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 05:55 (nine years ago) link

is it possible that love has a skillset that doesn't allow him to be a role player but isn't quite good enough to be a true two-way franchise star?

i mean probably not but maybe? even with the cavs rolling he still seems horribly out of place and miscast.

maybe it's a mental thing? he shouldn't fit worse than bosh offensively but it still seems like he does? defensively it's obvious tho

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:57 (nine years ago) link

bosh looked p miscast his first year w the big three too, tho obvs not to the truly epic extent love has

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 05:58 (nine years ago) link

even tho things are happy go lucky with the cavs now i still think their manifest destiny is a dispiriting playoff loss that gets laid at the feet of love who ends up bolting on some dwight shit

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 05:59 (nine years ago) link

likely def

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:00 (nine years ago) link

i think love cld be the primary scorer on a elite nba team, but wldnt fit with as wide variety of types of elite teams as more versatile superstars like bron or w/e

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:00 (nine years ago) link

love wld be really good prob on a very structured team like the the hawks or spurs

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:01 (nine years ago) link

spurs might have some money this summer i hear

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:02 (nine years ago) link

love might be miscast with a ring in a few months

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:12 (nine years ago) link

wld be frankly shocked

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:15 (nine years ago) link

not impossible i guess

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:15 (nine years ago) link

cavs just seem still very not pro

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:16 (nine years ago) link

feel like the east is still very winnable, and then, who knows?

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:17 (nine years ago) link

yeaaah just try to visualize jr smith starter for the nba champion u cant do it can u because its impossible

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:18 (nine years ago) link

not like thats their only issue either

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:19 (nine years ago) link

basically like every single player on their team is suspect in some way even bron

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:20 (nine years ago) link

so much better than before the trades tho. they have a pretty solid 7 man rotation now. think i mentioned on here I don't mind JR for a focused half season. They could flirt with lineups and start Tristan and bring Love off the bench to overlap with either Bron or Kyrie.

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:25 (nine years ago) link

the trades got them a legitimate nba lineup, not a championship lineup imho, i say they go down to a more disciplined seasoned well rounded team

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:27 (nine years ago) link

prob the hawks

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:27 (nine years ago) link

nothing would give me more pleasure than to see them get bounced by washington in the first round, don't get me wrong

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:31 (nine years ago) link

just checking up and cavs have some genuinely awful players getting minutes wow

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:32 (nine years ago) link

not like guys who can be cut out in the playoff either

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:33 (nine years ago) link

marion might be able to help in the playoffs if he's healthy but he old too.

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:35 (nine years ago) link

maybe they shd take a look at baron lol

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:36 (nine years ago) link

they do need a backup!

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:37 (nine years ago) link

amongst weak links dellavedova stands out as the weakest

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:38 (nine years ago) link

i mean they cld conceivably roll w thompson and shump but neither of them can play point

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:39 (nine years ago) link

also bron is having a nervous breakdown

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:40 (nine years ago) link

hairline on point tho

Steph def def (Spottie), Monday, 2 March 2015 06:45 (nine years ago) link

was thinking thats likely his motivation for posting the picture

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:45 (nine years ago) link

dellavedova / shump / marion / thompson / perkins lololol

polyphonic, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:46 (nine years ago) link

brutal

lag∞n, Monday, 2 March 2015 06:46 (nine years ago) link

perkins haha he came in against the warriors and got two fouls (one offensive) in like 5 seconds and the coach yanked him it was beautiful. he was so butthurt.

delavadova is one of the least useful nba players ive ever seen

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 07:10 (nine years ago) link

love on a team like the Hawks is interesting, i think horford is a pretty decent parallel for him as a guy who isn't quite good enough to drag a franchise into the conference finals but in the right situation is the jack of all trades kinda number 1 scorer who can elevate a deep group of very good role players

J0rdan S., Monday, 2 March 2015 07:11 (nine years ago) link

thx for all the love tonight guys, glad you enjoyed the story! I honestly hadnt even thought about it in years I guess? And I could've sworn I'd mentioned it before.

Anyways I'll say it again, dellevadova is lebron's Sasha vucevic.

Bron missing all his free throws esp the ones at the end that could have tied or won the game was really puzzling

at this rate wash isn't bouncing anybody anytime soon :/

slothroprhymes, Monday, 2 March 2015 12:32 (nine years ago) link

if cleve needs a backup point they should get nate rob

with kyrie not playing yesterday they actually didn't have any starting-quality guards on the team, houston noticed this and made life pretty miserable on the perimeter defensively w/ariza and bev.

yeah interesting comparison tho imo horford is truly an all around player where love shines more in a couple areas where he can go high volume

@WojYahooNBA: Chicago's Jimmy Butler could miss 3-4 weeks with elbow sprain, but won't need surgery, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
