jesus bosh is really gonna miss the rest of the season isn't he http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article10734557.html

J0rdan S., Friday, 20 February 2015 14:17 (nine years ago) link

that's terrible

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 14:29 (nine years ago) link

article is 100% speculation. the only known fact is that bosh was admitted to hospital for a lung condition.

micah, Friday, 20 February 2015 14:30 (nine years ago) link

hope he's ok

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 14:36 (nine years ago) link

yesterday was a hell of a day for zach lowe to become a father btw

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 14:39 (nine years ago) link

in other news the thunder are now in the playoffs and 9% of all nba players got traded in one day

micah, Friday, 20 February 2015 14:42 (nine years ago) link

i don't think thomas works at all, long-term, as a starter, especially in boston. he's on an extremely favorable contract tho and it's likely ainge just wants him so he can deal him later on

yeah agree

Last month, Brooklyn Nets guard Mirza Teletovic was diagnosed with a similar condition (pulmonary embolus) and will miss the rest of the season. Cleveland forward Andersen Varejao was diagnosed with a blood clot on his lower right lung in January 2013 and missed the remainder of the season.

Bosh :-(

is there more news?

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 15:18 (nine years ago) link

btw jordan bosh was on one of simmons' all-star weekend podcasts you would like it

tbh all 3 of his all-star weekend podcasts were very enjoyable

Hearing same that @JoeGoodmanJr reported: Bosh could miss season w blood clot.

J0rdan S., Friday, 20 February 2015 15:20 (nine years ago) link

re bosh just glad they caught it that is a super dangerous sitch

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 15:21 (nine years ago) link

IT he cn start imo, who knows if he fits in boston, who knows what boston is, cld play next to smart as smart is big enough to guard 2s, having two ball handlers in the backcourt is p cool in todays nba

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 15:22 (nine years ago) link

yeah but if smart is big enough to guard 2s that leaves...IT to guard point guards. and point guards are actually good and need to be guarded

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 15:23 (nine years ago) link

well regardless when u play him hes not gonna be good at D, but hey a lot of players arent good at D

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 15:24 (nine years ago) link

at least he has an excuse

yeah they were very fun, the 10-minute chat format works well with the players, though tbh i need like an hour of ahmad rashad, that guy is incredible

call all destroyer, Friday, 20 February 2015 15:43 (nine years ago) link

his frank sinatra story omg

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 15:49 (nine years ago) link

bernard king was amazing too, the way he broke down the way he approached scoring was almost ted williamsesque

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 15:50 (nine years ago) link

after reading some trade deadline reactions ive come to the conclusion goran dragic is the modern day turkoglu, the one player every nba fan is convinced is really good after he had one really good season during a career of pretty good seasons

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:00 (nine years ago) link

Simmons: I am making this point for the second time this week: Dragic was the fourth-best guard in basketball last season. I voted him second-team All-NBA. There were legitimate reasons why his numbers dropped this year that had nothing to do with him and everything to do with the bizarre but lovable roster that Phoenix slapped together. Miami becomes a title contender if it can get him without touching its top four … at least until we remember that Dwyane Wade couldn’t play 38 MPG for four straight rounds even if Anthony Bosch, Brian McNamee and Ivan Drago’s trainer were training him. But we won’t remember that until, like, late April, right?

bill simmons dragic has a whole career u cn look at btw the stats are avalible online

Goldsberry: Dragic is really good with the right guys. Last year, Vogel called the Dragic-Frye pick-and-roll “maybe the hardest to cover in the game.”

last year

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:04 (nine years ago) link

oh come on he's better than turkoglu ever was, turkoglu was your classic overperforming on a well-coached good team guy, dragic was the best player on his team

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 16:11 (nine years ago) link

i did love turkoglu tho lol

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 16:12 (nine years ago) link

ur doing it right now, u r turkogluing him

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:13 (nine years ago) link

and given the black hole that is the miami point guard situation he fills a need, that's probably worth a couple millies per year. his age is concerning but he's not going to fall off a cliff in all likelihood, and his age fits well with bosh/wade's window. it's a good get

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 16:14 (nine years ago) link

two first round picks for the honor of maxing dragic out idk man

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:14 (nine years ago) link

if they max him now before the cap raises it might be fine

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 16:16 (nine years ago) link

it might be fine, prob not worth two first round picks tho

New @Celtics jersey numbers:

Isaiah Thomas - #4
Jonas Jerebko - #8
Luigi Datome - #70

lol i completely forgot they got two other players

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:18 (nine years ago) link

p sure those arent real guys

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:20 (nine years ago) link

tho i do actually remember jerebko having a good game once for the pistons

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:21 (nine years ago) link

i had doubts myself, damn it danny

slothroprhymes, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:22 (nine years ago) link

dragic did have an exceptional season last year but he's been very good for like 4 years now

J0rdan S., Friday, 20 February 2015 16:41 (nine years ago) link

he has not been very good he has been just good

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 16:45 (nine years ago) link

he's finishing even better this year than he was last year, his advanced numbers are down a bit due to a downtick in 3pt shooting and a lower usage because of the 3 guard thing. he should dominate the ball in miami plenty

the other interesting thing will be how much leverage the heat lose in contract talks with bosh's health uncertain

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 17:03 (nine years ago) link

well if they offer him the 5 year max one wld think hed sign, especially since miami was one of the places he said he wanted to play

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:04 (nine years ago) link

congrats heat i guess u just bought a 34 y/io goran dragic

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:05 (nine years ago) link

yeah signing an athletic point guard long term for his past-prime years is risky for sure

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 17:13 (nine years ago) link

guess the heat felt like they had a chance to make some noise this year otherwise not sure why u wldnt just wait and try to sign him in the offseason, if u lose out and the knicks can offer him more cause they traded for him its not really the end of the world

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:15 (nine years ago) link

urgency i guess is understandable w that teams age but still feels overly desperate

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:16 (nine years ago) link

now if bosh is out obvs its all for naught, crazy timing

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:16 (nine years ago) link

dragic cld age decently i guess tho cause hes got size and shooting and overall a pretty crafty game

lag∞n, Friday, 20 February 2015 17:18 (nine years ago) link

his shooting is not that reliable and he relies a lot on his athleticism + getting to the rim

k3vin k., Friday, 20 February 2015 17:22 (nine years ago) link
