outside the office I work in in Clerkenwell, you can see a girl from my office sat on the front steps crying, while another dude from the office consoles her

it's on the east end of Aylesbury St, Islington

found it, jeepers.

also randomly found a view of a guy working underneath his car, the odd thing about it was that it seemed to be in some kind of quiet cul de sac neighbourhood. something eerie about the google van driving around somewhere so secluded.

i was thinking about starting a thread containing street views of addresses celebrated in song but electric avenue has not been mapped so fuck it

I love viewing decrepit small towns in rural southern US. Behold, Hughes Arkansas, which I drove through once to get to the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena.

Do Google image vans not go south of the river or something? How come Electric Avenue hasn't been done when my little street out in Zone 3 has?

Google Street View omits roads not passable by traffic. The market on Electric Avenue prevents traffic access. Same with Ridley Road in Dalston, which is also not covered.

they don't seem to have done the roads where my office is, just off Old St/City Rd

There's other roads around Brixton you can't go down on Street View that are traffic accessible, I reckon they're just shirking.

my girlfriend just showed me her home in japan, and then took me on a little tour of her town. she said it helps cure her home sickness, taking these little virtual walks. i thought that was incredibly sweet.

I just checked in with my old college house that I shared with three other guys and yep, it appears to be a daycare now.

I just looked round the streets of the little beach village in southern NSW that we spent all our childhood summers in... havent been back there in like 10 or 15 years. Boy did I feel homesick, and it's not even home!

Ah no what I meant is, yeah you can see them in 3 or 4 frames but as you move up the street closer to them, one frame's been deleted.

This is pretty much what I imagined the USA to look like (outside of cities) until I was in my teens.

You should try dragging the little figure to Australia - outside of the cities it looks like Mars with stubby trees. And I also had my first Google Maps Streetview dream last night - I dreamt that I was Streetviewing along the main street of my home town, but when they took the pictures there was a carnival in progress, so all I could see was floats and people dressed in costumes.

I just realized, y'all probably havent seen the "best" part of Hughes, Arkansas. If you plug in 106 Bush St, it'll take you up a bit from Poor Boy's Liquor to a completely abandoned retail block. I'm fascinated looking at stuff like this, don't know why.

The rural south is obv poorer than the norm, but yeah churches and a farm supplies store pretty much defines small town America in general.
