I have the permanent refresh circle too, pretty much whenever I pull to refresh.
― woof, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 14:49 (nine years ago) link
i miss the refresh button on the bottom of the home screen. not a big fan of pulling to refresh tbf.
― Steph def def (Spottie), Wednesday, 11 February 2015 15:58 (nine years ago) link
Pull to refresh is infinitely better for me. Because so many other apps already use that mechanism to refresh, it's just odd to have to tap a button to do it.
― Jeff, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 16:10 (nine years ago) link
maybe they can live together?
― Steph def def (Spottie), Wednesday, 11 February 2015 16:11 (nine years ago) link
its not a big deal, to be clear. Slight preference.
prob already mentioned, but the Safari logo is blurry
Can we replace the "open safari" button with the generic up-arrow send-to-app?

I appreciate it

Yeah, refresh on new answers is always a spinning circle of death over here as well.

Weird, I haven't seen this one before. You mean the big spinner keeps spinning, or the one by the network signal indicator?
Also, do you have any bookmarks?
― stet, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 18:15 (nine years ago) link
I love the Clear/Clear? button! It should make everyone happy. Also love the link, image, bold, etc buttons all being in one row.
Improvements would be to display the thread title once in the thread, as prev. mentioned, plus a spinner when clicking on a link, so you know you've actually succeeded at clicking on it. And URL or page title once in a webpage. But mostly thank you and I hope to donate as soon as it becomes possible.
― a girl with colitis (Je55e), Wednesday, 11 February 2015 18:30 (nine years ago) link
Yeah thread title is a big one, every thread looks like it's called "zing touch". It's amazing how quickly I forget which thread I clicked on.
Also is there still no way to see all your bookmarks? Search didn't seem to work, and I had to go into safari to find them the other day.
Looks great though, I dig it.

Big spinner. Basically if I'm in SNA and pull to refresh it does refresh the first time, but stays there spinning forever above the refreshed list. And iirc I can't refresh again while it's doing that - I have to go back to the home screen/board/bookmark list.
(I've got one bookmark hanging around that I haven't cleared up/updated for a few days.)
― woof, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 20:08 (nine years ago) link
OH! This is in SNA? Shit, I see it now. Fixing.
― stet, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 22:06 (nine years ago) link
woah everything looks different
― Mordy, Wednesday, 11 February 2015 23:54 (nine years ago) link
still craving view all yr bookmarks support. app 2.0 looks amazing.
― Mordy, Thursday, 12 February 2015 00:00 (nine years ago) link
love the new version stet and have already used filter a number of times.
one additional thing - after a couple of weeks of zero ILX time I've got an embarrassing number of bookmarks. scrolling *up* through them (and it does seem like it's just up) is p glitchy.
small beer in the grand scheme of things, and as I say the app's great (like woof, it's prob my most used) but if you are doing a bit of mopping up...
― Fizzles, Thursday, 12 February 2015 09:51 (nine years ago) link
new features seem neat but anyway to go back to old font? I can't even say what the difference is but I preferred it before.
― dan selzer, Friday, 13 February 2015 15:42 (nine years ago) link
curious what the sans-serif font is
― gr8080, Friday, 13 February 2015 15:55 (nine years ago) link
avenir maybe
― mh, Friday, 13 February 2015 16:10 (nine years ago) link
I usually like avenir in text setting but on the phone, I don't know, maybe just compared to before whatever this is looks too light and airy.
― dan selzer, Friday, 13 February 2015 17:02 (nine years ago) link
ya light small san serif is not the most readable combo
― lag∞n, Friday, 13 February 2015 17:11 (nine years ago) link
I'm sure I'll be used to it in no time.
― dan selzer, Friday, 13 February 2015 18:07 (nine years ago) link
the new font seems like it should be harder to read, but somehow I'm finding it easier than the old one
― Brad C., Friday, 13 February 2015 18:39 (nine years ago) link
i think i stumbled on a bug:
i was in my account settings (trying to check/change my server) and somehow logged in seven times.
i had seven lists of bookmarks and seven "ilx boards" links.
uninstalled/reinstalled and everything's fine now

If a thread won't load for me it's usually because somebody's used a weird character in a post somewhere.

on that thread there's and e with an accent and an a with an umlaut and an a grave, some chinese, and an escape character. and a euro sign. but that's about it. my money is on the escape.

That thread should work now - was a bug server-side. XML doesn't support all the UTF-8 characters, who knew?
― stet, Wednesday, 4 March 2015 00:40 (nine years ago) link
I have some problems with that statement but mostly because I do know about really dumb character encoding

does anyone else get jumpy/glitchy movement when scrolling up bookmarks after having just refreshed a bookmark & returned to their bookmark list?

mh, I was taking that from http://www.sklar.com/archives/96-XML-vs.-Control-Characters.html among other places, and stripping out those characters made it all work. Is it wrong?
