Seriously, though, these two dozen or whatever tracks - is there a way to conveniently download them? I assume eventually someone will grab them and share them.

having a hard time keeping up here... anybody help?

I've ripped 36 tracks so far. Be happy to share them here if mods think that's ok.

It's pretty easy to use something like Anything To MP3 to d/l the audio.

groovypanda, Tuesday, 27 January 2015 19:19 (nine years ago) link

thx for link; i would LOVE a rip link

Sounds like a forks display name (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 27 January 2015 19:27 (nine years ago) link

Yeah, seriously. Even if I was successfully able to rip and assemble these tracks piecemeal, I worry they'd get lost in my virtual pile of other loose tracks floating around my hard drive.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 27 January 2015 19:30 (nine years ago) link

snare robot seems kinda dumb, or rather a lot of work for what you presumably get out of it. i mean, they say this:

24.04.2014: Tests by Kristof Lauwers. Snar2 not only outperforms our first Snar version, but also easily human players. Not only with respect to speed and polyphony, but even in dynamic range.

but there are so many sounds that you can't get out of that design, like hitting different parts of the head, buzzes, rimclicks, etc.

virtuoso thigh slapper (Jordan), Tuesday, 27 January 2015 19:31 (nine years ago) link

from what i understand the sticks themselves on the robot are solely for rim stuff, the actual snare hits are achieved with that array of beaters

45 tracks now. The latest one (5 minutes or so old) is already on over 100 plays

groovypanda, Tuesday, 27 January 2015 20:01 (nine years ago) link

And another.

Wonder when it will stop?

groovypanda, Tuesday, 27 January 2015 20:02 (nine years ago) link

I've got 47. Man. I get totally geeked out about artists who threw away songs that are better than most people's careers. The Who Sell Out bonus tracks. Joy Division's Still. etc

ah thank you!

UK Horseshit Cru (dog latin), Wednesday, 28 January 2015 09:53 (nine years ago) link

Given that these are not commercially available tracks, I think it's okay to post them here.

Thanks for posting these! I'm very excited about them. I think I actually enjoy his various demos and side projects better than his official albums.

Hope he keeps going up to druqks outtakes or later.

Koogs not otm

brimstead, Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:12 (nine years ago) link

Majority of what I've heard so far (probably less than half) have definitely sounded SAW 85-92/SAW II era.

It's kind of nuts that he's been sitting on all these tracks for so long. From that quote upthread he said he had hundreds of tracks so I wonder exactly when he's going to stop.

groovypanda, Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:20 (nine years ago) link

Why stop?

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:26 (nine years ago) link

the most recent one ("26 5") sounds like "4" from Richard D James Album so I'm guessing these are progressing at least semi-chronologically

example (crüt), Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:27 (nine years ago) link

Yeah, over at the We Are The Music Makers forum they're freaking out that some appear to be Hangable Auto Bulb outtakes

groovypanda, Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:30 (nine years ago) link

lol he uploaded a track that he forgot he had already released on 26 mixes for cash

example (crüt), Wednesday, 28 January 2015 20:31 (nine years ago) link

also lol that he's completely dropped the im not afx deal

Groovypanda is my new idol. Could you possibly assemble a second zip when he hits 100 or so?
