In a less enlightened time, we might have noted that five of Recker's seven home runs in 2014 gave the Mets the lead. In a less enlightened time, we might have said that of course Recker is a great clubhouse presence -- he tweets about his favorite restaurants on the road! In a less enlightened time, we might have observed Recker's great baseball face, which would be code for, "He's built like a tank and he's really, really, almost insanely good-looking." In reality, Recker did little to earn himself a major-league job in 2015, but he'll be around, which makes one wonder how enlightened we really are. The man is a gorgeous, ruggedly handsome personification of the progress BP and our ilk have yet to make. He is gorgeous, though.
