horford was injured on boxing day 2013 at which point the hawks record was 16-13, again i resent you for making me check this, stop making things up

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:38 (nine years ago) link

Let's focus more on how great they are this yr

Heez, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:41 (nine years ago) link

I'm having a very chill morning at work: drinking coffee and watch hawks/wiz

Heez, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:43 (nine years ago) link

lol

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:43 (nine years ago) link

the hawks were onto something last year is all i'm saying

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 January 2015 15:45 (nine years ago) link

even if the hawks regress to some version of the mean, the only way i see them not being top 3 at this rate is injury

i'm tellin you it was kenard (slothroprhymes), Monday, 12 January 2015 15:45 (nine years ago) link

idk imo the top five in the east is pretty fluid

lag∞n, Monday, 12 January 2015 15:46 (nine years ago) link

i'd be much more sympathetic to the idea that the hawks are gonna fall back if they hadn't, like, beat houston, dallas, portland and the clippers on the road -- it doesn't seem like a fluke!

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 January 2015 15:48 (nine years ago) link

I've heard this line of thinking so much the past couple weeks. I guess people just aren't watching? The hawks are so clearly one of the best teams in the league that even if the bulls/cavs start playing at their max potential they would struggle to win a series against them

― Heez, Monday, January 12, 2015 10:24 AM (20 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

idk the hawks are playing the best they have like ever its not unreasonable to expect them to backslide some

― lag∞n, Monday, January 12, 2015 10:27 AM (18 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

i don't think the cavs are gonna be one of the best teams at the end of the season

― J0rdan S., Monday, January 12, 2015 10:28 AM (16 minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

people are forgetting that the hawks were wrecking shit last year before horford got hurt, this isn't completely out of nowhere

― J0rdan S., Monday, January 12, 2015 10:29 AM (16 minutes ago)

yeah obv my post was a little tongue in cheek, and also i called the hawks being very good this year. but they're playing a little over their heads right now i think. to me they're definitely in the top 3 of what i see as the eventual 3 best teams in the east, along with the cavs and bulls

k3vin k., Monday, 12 January 2015 15:49 (nine years ago) link

i think if anyone is gonna fall out of the top 3 or 4 it's toronto

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 January 2015 15:49 (nine years ago) link

torontos D has gone to hell for some reason idk why but if they can start defending again they shd be right in there their offense is great

Nhex, Monday, 12 January 2015 17:35 (nine years ago) link

yessir

I'm trying to sort out which of yesterday's games to watch tonight & if the cavs slack is fun enough to watch. here in olde europe I watch games a day late which once you get past the lack of live drama is nice b/c you can skip the dogg games & watch only the classix i.e. watch gsw every night

Kyrie was getting better in the games I saw during their second crisis point of the season

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 00:51 (nine years ago) link

LeBron's season has been totally shocking to me, the loss of athleticism, injuries, lack of leadership, generally paranoid approach to the media

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 00:53 (nine years ago) link

why can't I find the raptors-pistons game on league pass

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 00:55 (nine years ago) link

I'm shocked that Dwight Howard doesn't have more enemies who try to go after him that way around the league honestly

Matt a did you find Pistons raps I have both feeds on league pass

I love the Toronto feed Canadian commercials and the announcers had to do a promo for something drake related that had a url like raptors.com/drakebonanaza or something equally ridic

Feel like the 30+ decline hit a little harder and faster than anyone expected bron included and was exacerbated by injuries but the weirdness I think is that bron thought bron the gm learned all he needed to know from Riley and that this slide over to the cavs and recruit k love and what not would all go much smoother

celtics pelicans tied at 49 at the half - jae crowder making himself a lil bit of a highlight reel

I don't buy this as entirely an aging thing, he lost a lot of weight and suddenly is injury prone? Has the stamina of Luc Longley?

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 01:50 (nine years ago) link

He started the season calling for timeouts multiple times a game because he was out of breath.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 01:50 (nine years ago) link

it could be a lot of things, loss of desire, being far away from biogenesis, but no way this is all aging

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 01:51 (nine years ago) link

Luc Longley: Now that was one fine-looking human.
