been away from this album probably 8-9 years, but I still like it just as much today

i don't get why they reversed the track order on the deluxe, "Yeah Yeah You Would" makes much more sense as the opener, so I reset it that way on my player. "Ass on the Floor" is perfectly placed as the third.

still in my top 5 of the decade, for me rn the easy pick for #1 is “hate that you love me” crazy it placed so low

there are actually three different tracklists of this (original, cd deluxe, digital deluxe) and i have no idea why, maybe we should poll them lol

Imagine if this would have been the launchpad for most of pop in the last decade.... sigh.

I was wondering the same thing, actually. My assumption was that it was because Dirty Money split up before they got to do more?

Because he spent three years on it and it's his lowest-selling album (~300,000 copies)?

he also might just be alluding to the general theme of the album....

its crazy how many people i see talking about it today...if you look at the pazz n jop voters for it its literally the ilm all stars

I was assuming he meant like unperson said he thought it was his best work and it didn't do well

My general opinion of Sean Combs was such that I was legit shocked + floored when I finally heard this album. Still sounds so great.

the one before it suggests its heading in this direction tbh. i actually expected at the time "press play" to sound more like what ended up being "LTTP" just because he was already listening to all the music that influenced LTTP but he hadn't quite adapted it to his A&R skillset yet i guess ... still "Press Play" has some crazy shit on it. The Keyshia Cole song in particular

"Press Play" also has Mario Winans-guested "Through the Pain" which kinda felt like it coulda fit on LTTP.

Press Play was one of my fave albums of the late 00s. Never quite warmed to LTTP for some reason.
