A man has told the Daily Telegraph he bumped into the gunman outside of the Lindt cafe and the gunman threatened to “shoot him too”:
Craig Stoker, a father of four from Eastlakes, told the newspaper:
He was wearing a black T-shirt with white writing on it and a headband and carrying a blue bag.
The bag bumped into me and there was something hard in it. I said ‘watch where you are fucking going’.

One of my friends, who not only used to be a fairly highly ranked policeman but a fairly highly ranked policeman involved in counter terrorism, was telling me last week that he reckoned this is increasingly about lack of proper mental health provision rather ISIS or whatever ... and, voila, this nutjob shows up.

This nutjob "showed up" seven years ago (hate letters to soldiers & widows then, arranging his ex's murder in 2012, 40+ sexual assault charges as a spiritual healer in 2013) and only "became" a Muslim two weeks ago. There's no sensible reason to invoke ISIS enough to even dismiss it.

Quite obviously a very sick individual and there was more than enough warning. (He switched brands of Islam in his head so he could be a lunchbox legend like all the other wannabe Daesh.) Why this guy wasn't locked up is beyond me.
Very, very sad about the two people lost and from what the media are saying, they both went out as real heroes.
Walked up to Martin Place at lunch and it was very sad - seemed everyone had come up to pay their respects. Walked past a flower stand nearby and the line up went for ages.
