dog latin doing well to make a desperately uninteresting thread less enticing with the otiose 'thread for discussing' and perhaps the first 'c/d' since 2004

my brother, i have been trying to understand the fixation with trap music and the best i can do is presume their brains turn to mush whenever they hear an 808, or the mythic words 'mike will made it'

PORC EPIC SAVVAGE (imago), Thursday, 9 April 2015 22:41 (nine years ago) link

also those who can call a song with the lyrics 'come around to your house and fuck your ho' (paraphrase) the most 'euphorically romantic of recent years', but then with ilm you come to expect the unexpected, and woe betide anyone who doesn't sing about baking pies

PORC EPIC SAVVAGE (imago), Thursday, 9 April 2015 22:46 (nine years ago) link

I feel like I might be able to appreciate this stuff if I pretend it's some new and thought-provoking pc music concoction. but I really don't have the patience for that kind of thought experiment when the emceeing is 'rolling fuck this shit worst songs of 2015' caliber and the lyrics are just as abhorrent as meta/ironic commentary (if that's what ilm is rationalizing it as) as they are at face value.

but this thread is heading dangerously close to trenchant warfare so I'll just shrug and say it's not for me

It's kind of endearing how LJ manages to be all "look at these idiots" while bashing straight into the same comedy lamppost he's walked into dozens of times before.

I'm actually a well documented hater of a lot of trap beats. I love Trap Queen because it shamelessly moves into the euphoric candyfloss space that Future largely vacated with his last album.

The sound that cricket makes is very lovely, I just don't want to actually look at it.

Matt DC, Friday, 10 April 2015 20:44 (nine years ago) link
