lex, if you give a fuck about TH just try and watch the "Stop Making Sense" film-umentary cos really to appreciate them you have to see the effort David Byrne put into their live act.

you couldn't really wittle it down to that, although yes there are some guitars.

imagine about 20 people jumping around choreographically and playing energetic slap-bass driven post-punk with world beat stuff and backing singers, with the guy out of funkadelic on guitar and fronted by a skinny prep-nerd in a giant suit with a look about him like he's just worked out how to crash the stockmarket with the press of a button.

If there IS an answer to this, its almost certainly someone who's remembered for one big record that a lot of people have fond memories of and nobody hates. Soft Cell maybe.

I can get behind the Jackson 5, whoever up there was wondering. They did "I'll Bet You" on their first record, which is a plus. And in general I'm a big fan of that early- to mid-70s Motown production sound.
