Taking another's dislike of your favorite band as a deep personal insult - C/D?

"Dismiss" and "human being" are definitely too far, but I was just quoting. My point was (a) I have a hard time seeing myself getting insulted because someone doesn't like a band I like, and (b) I just don't care enough about most other peoples' tastes in music that I feel any need to judge what they do and don't get into. I know what I like, I know who I trust to turn me on to stuff I don't know, and the rest of the world can go do its thing.

I fully intend for my attacks on people's favorite bands to be personal insults!

At the risk of sounding hypocritical and disengenous, I do take exception to people shit-talking about a favorite band of mine and getting their facts wrong (i.e. calling them "goths" or whatnot). I don't take it as a "deep personal insult," but it does push my buttons.

Someone I know said the first release sounds a bit like the Cure, with more electronics.

Cybergoths?

Meaning what? You're a completely out of touche idiot?

meaning that if J-Mo hadn't made a certain critical career move he would now be haunting the Rainbow, barely tolerated by the staff and hoping for wry fux0rz and tourists to buy him drinks in exchange for the pleasure of smirking at his old-time stories

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Calling someone who has by all standards succeeded beyond most people's wildest expectations a "hack" is not just ANY criticism or don't you get that?

I, too, aspire to be a big fat drug-addled has-been dead dude in a bathtub sometime in the future. Of course, I have always been known to shoot for the stars.
