givenchy is unbelievable

i'm halfway through the rich gang tape and it's such a drag. every song sounds exactly the same and there is such intolerable singing everywhere

if i had any time for men singing badly about their feelings i'd be a fucking indie fan

I like Young Thug but I can't really be doing with Rich Homie Quan at all. I'd be able to overlook an irritating persona if the beats were more fun and less generic but yeah the cumulative effect of four or five of these in a row is such a drag. I'm still mystified why so many rappers gravitate towards this one really fucking dull kind of beat.

(I get that it works for people, it's just clearly not for me, but it explains why hearing Mustard beats all over the place feels like such a breath of fresh air at this point)

i am determined to get to the end of this tape and i can't believe it's STILL GOING

idk i get the crit that the whole tape sounds the same but thats more positive than neg imo

it's very pop-oriented rap but the lyrics are important in an untraditional way (though in a more traditional way than you are implying)

if you want to listen to your old droog go listen to your old droog. there are still lines that pop out here though -- "she say she can do the same thing as five bitches / so i went and fired them five bitches" for instance. just little funny things that stick out. this isn't rock em sock em robot punchline music but... that's not the only way to listen to rap?

but do you not feel what "givenchy" is supposed to evoke even if it doesn't ground itself in Rap?

thug turned the weirdness up quite a bit over like wayne or future, the first time i heard him shouting abt how he needed a cup twice (v funny clever line btw) i was like is this a real thing irl perople are into but now it seems pretty normal

even though young thug does rap rap on that song xp
