i love this album. some of it sounds like bjork doing linda difranco and sade covers.

This album is really something. Balearic/Dixon/Sade is so right, I can't believe nobody tried it before.

2011 alb very good too so damn confident but no time for smug "Beep beep."

Loved their EPs in 2009-10 - think "All Around And Away We Go" was my favourite track by anyone that year - then found their first LP in 2011 to be a huge let-down, just a few highlights and "Saturday Sunday" was just terrible. Will try to check out their new stuff with an open mind.

So good. One of my late discoveries (Thanks to Johnny Fever for having it in his albums of the year list) but already very high on my own list.

Yeah the first half is just gorgeous. The second half seems so unexpected after those songs but it somehow it really works as a whole album.

This LP is now my favourite this year, not a weak spot on it, glad they've stopped trying to be an indie band and embraced this strung-out 5am post-disco thing, her voice deserves it.

Pretty sure I overlooked this on the basis of the terrible name too.

nearly overlooked it on the basis of 1) their name 2) the previous associations i had re: their sound 3) who was writing about them

thankfully a friend whose taste i really trust recommended it to me

It took many co-signs for me to check it out.

I never actually saw anyone talking about or recommending them, just the name!

"Color Your Life" from the Twin Sister days is one of my favorite pieces of music this decade. I guess they're not giving it away free anymore but it's very much worth whatever price they're asking.

Finally picked up 'In Heaven', the Twin Sister full length, today for £1 and am quite enjoying it. Will eventually get around to Mr Twin Sister.

"In Heaven" is very nice. Haven't heard the new one. Saw them in LA the other night and they were great!

IIRC, Andrea announced a multiple sclerosis diagnosis prior to the album release in 2014.

I was there too - didn't mind the venue that much. small but

wish I had known, I'd have bought you a pint! I spent 9/10ths of the set unable to see anything, the choice to have a "stage" that's barely an inch higher than the crowd space means a 5ft5 wisp like me either needs to be down the front or resign themselves to the view of the back of somebody's head.

even the tracks i wasn't as enthusiastic about pre-release sound so much better in the context of the full album

ya this is hitting super hard. 'expressions' is amazing

i kind of prefer them in post-disco mode than in fever ray mode

This album is delightful. I love how lush and detailed it is - it feels like there's always about a hundred details going at any given moment - while retaining its light, airy effervescence.

My nine year old son, out of the blue, just asked me about Meet The Frownies - an early song from when they were just Twin Sister.
