oh just some minor pavement etiquette stuff while i was out running, the usual cunty swaggering down the pavement trying to physically impose themselves on the public space and not moving an inch to let me past, nearly ended up shoving me into the road and looked flabbergasted that i'd dare call him out

more a culmination of witnessing countless similar behaviours though, physical and psychological, directed at both me and others (p sure every woman you know experiences this a thousand times as much)

(and that was p minor as far as these things go but i certainly put it on the same spectrum as random public heckling, homophobic or not, which is another thing i make a point of giving back as hard as i get)

next time just sweep his legs and run off imo

these cunts need to be told tho so well played, might even amend his behaviour next time (i am an optimist)

lol the last of my very infrequent irl hardman episodes involved bodychecking someone into the street and swearing at a group of terribly serious middle aged joggers who took up the entire width of the pavement and seemingly expected anyone walking in the opposite direction to step into the street while they passed

it always astounds me how many people out there are apparently incapable of being considerate users of pavements

One time I was on the brooklyn bridge and there was a family of tourists standing in the bike lane taking photos and this bike guy was whizzing down the bridge. Instead of slowing down, he just yells angrily and scoldingly NO! NO!

this is me with sidewalk bikers, who are ruining it for the rest of us. i wont budge.

or fuckers walking in the bike lane

or cars driving on the sidewalk

i occasionally commute by bike across the brooklyn bridge and the oblivious tourist stuff gets old real fast

it's really not hard to be considerate when you are the tourist yourself! standing in a bike lane is just...why would you do that. and i don't cycle, i usually encounter cyclists as the breachers of etiquette (either pavement cyclists or the eternal cyclists vs runners hostility - i once witnessed a cyclist on a towpath plough straight into another runner, knocking her to the ground, and he didn't even acknowledge her let alone apologise)

i shoulder check screenzombies whenever possible and declare 'that's illegal' to sidewalk bikers

why can't we just all get along

I really do love bikers for the RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION they have w/r/t to car drivers combined with the prickish complete lack of courtesy for pedestrians

Cars, bikers, and pedestrians are such assholes when I'm street luging down the mountain.

i live in a college neighborhood on a major thoroughfare with nice, clearly marked bike lanes

the hedge in front of my building is pretty bushed out so the sidewalk is artificially narrow

it's about once a week some dipshit kid in pajama bottoms on a creaky mtn bike comes trundling around the corner on the sidewalk, usually when i have my hands full.

my hardman% is pretty low but ONE OF THESE DAYS i swear

there seems to be a big "walk in the street/bike on the sidwalk" underground movt in minneapolis

This is confusing; the appropriate response to people that claim too much public space is bodychecking them/ refusing to move/ heckling? These all seem like the overly aggresive behaviors that cause angst in the first place.

I think I've got this beat. More or less every day on my walk from work to the bus stop, I see this late 20s guy riding uphill on an electric toy scooter, on the pavement.

keep telling myself that one of these days i'm just going to start setting screens on ppl who walk busy city streets while reading/typing on their phones
