Played it for the first time on an iPad mini, and holy cow, it was in my face.

No ads or anything, but it opening up Facebook without warning surprised me.

Sometimes I get to where there's a row of 1's at the top and no way to topple them, my second-to-last ball comes up as a 2, and I'm like the Greek from "The Wire", waiting under the bridge for someone, putting away the phone and saying, "It isn't going to work out."

I'll also make a dumb mistake, like throwing a 1 away on a tall stack instead of busting a block on the far left, and I hear Norman Chad and Lon McEachern in my head going, "Oh, that was a bad play. He's walking right into it."

Downloaded it on my shitty Android phone and saw the new version for the first time. It even had the dumb "rack 'em!" sound effects at the beginning. What a way to spoil a classic game.

been meaning to read up on the strategy of this game. i play compulsively on the train but keep an average around 100k, sometimes i can get up to around 300k if i clear the board early.

normally i just try and nuke all 1s and 2s while keeping as many 5s, 6s, and 7s on the board, but i assume this is not actually the way to maximize ones score

My first strategy is go a row of sixes and then pile some 7s at the end, so you'll get all those sixes to explode on the third or fourth step of a chain.

My strategy after that is to panic and start busting up anything I can find.

I feel like the success or dareisay genius of this game is that it resists any? most? like absolute strategies imo

like I guess I have a loose strat of trying to eliminate any 6s asap but there are def exceptions to that so ¯\(°_0)/¯

SO much gambling... "If I get a 2 and bust that one, and it's a 1, then I can move that 4 down..." = basically risking it all on filling an inside straight.

It's Classic, Blitz and Sequence now. I will never understand people who play Sequence.
