This album is fantastic.

album is fantastic. i don’t understand why he doesn’t get more club play. this album is full of bangers (e.g. charlotte is so so so perfect).

i was in berlin when white labels of happy house just started circulating and heard it 0 times. still mad.

when germans asked “what are americans digging?” and i responded with “JUAN MACLEAN!” they just shrugged and talked about americans not understanding polka techno.

Just got back from hearing his set. Loved the new stuff that I recognized on a system!

"Love Stops Here" is a great late-era LCD Soundsystem homage/ripoff

lol that bands that are on the same label and have overlapping members and have toured together and whose lead members used to be in a band together can rip one another off

Murphy was sometime soundman for 6FS, never a member afaik

he also produced an album but sure. it defnitely seems like they influenced eachother quite a bit regardless

James Murphy was in Pony same time as 6FS. I saw them in Bloomington and have their 7".

The Etienne de Crecy take on "Like An Eagle"/"Comme Un Aigle" is working a lot better than the Audiojack one.

album of the year candidate for me. simply gorgeous.

Same here. I went on a trip last week and it was all I listened to for two days. Played maybe ten times and just did not get bored of it. There may be a couple of higher highs on The Future Will Come but I think I prefer this one overall.

loving this more with each listen. weirdly charlotte is the song that took the longest to warm to, but now I love it. This is a top 5 DFA record, easily.

i feel like there's nothing to say about this because it's so exactly what you expect and it's just john & nancy doing what john & nancy do but every moment really hits the spot so perfectly

I've grown to like much of it except when he starts to sing.

SITP needs a juan vocal-less edit, it sags so badly when his hot chip voice tramples all over the disco.

ha, i am usually pretty alert to the problem of the unwanted male voice galumphing in but i felt this album dodged that pitfall

Right now only "The Sun Will Never Set On Our Love", "A Simple Design" and "Running Back To You" feel like all-time essential tracks to me. Not that there's anything bad here, though maybe the strike rate is a bit lower than on The Future Will Come.

I need to listen to this album but I am always hesitant to dwelve into a new one because of his voice, despite mostly adoring their previous albums.
