I had forks to keep me company in the lower strata.

And I'm just a big dude, no matter how you define it.

Markers is tall and I always forget that. I think every time we've met I've been surprised and asked how tall he is again.

I'm 5'10 1/2" and feel "tall" usually, even though I know this is average.

Same height, but I rarely feel like a particularly tall person. This is probably half down to proportions and half down to terrible posture.

i went to the store today and the fancy soda i wanted and went specifically to this store to get was on the top shelf so far up that i couldn't have reached it even if i jumped. and jumping/grabbing the soda was not an option. there was nowhere to climb either. i was standing there staring at it wondering what to do when a tall person walked around the corner into the aisle and i asked for help.

this is what being a short person is like
it wasn't a big deal, but i did need to go out of my way to ask for help

Otm. On the other hand, our shoes are not feats of engineering the size of boats, and that's nice.

Haha, aaawww, LL. I am the kind of person that people always ask for help reaching stuff in the supermarket. (And, OK, yes, I usually volunteer if I see little old ladies staring in a pining manner at tins on the top shelf.)

I occasionally hang out with these two Scottish girls who are both about 6'. It makes me feel short, which is kind of funny.

I love it when people ask for my help reaching stuff! It is nice for one's height to be useful rather than just a pain of the ass when shopping for pants.

i love it too. i was in the law library the other day and the librarian was helping me with a question and she was like "but i need you to get that for me" and i felt so heroic.

Yes, due strictly to his height, that's the reason...

im 5'7", pretty skinny, i used to not like being short and i wouldn't mind being a little taller but overall im pretty happy w/ my size

marcos, Friday, 3 March 2017 16:28 (seven years ago) link

it is hard finding shirts though, the sleeves are almost always too long

marcos, Friday, 3 March 2017 16:35 (seven years ago) link

Is that a MAGA cap he's wearing? Asking for a friend.

And I'm 5ft 9, does that qualify me as a perfidious female height supremacist?

the problem with this man is that garishly wide tie with the full windsor knot

Treeship, Thursday, 9 March 2017 16:52 (seven years ago) link

big tie knots are indicative of barbaric temperament, it's true. top button undone... it's rich in abominable details

ogmor, Thursday, 9 March 2017 17:02 (seven years ago) link

the enormous dress shirt bunching underneath the tiny waistcoat armholes

Treeship, Thursday, 9 March 2017 17:04 (seven years ago) link

I was going to make a joke about how nobody used to do their tie up properly in school, but then I decided to be the bigger person O WAIT I ALREADY WAS LOL
