Glass Animals

Their debut, Zaba, is quickly becoming one of my favorite records of 2014 and I've seen no mention of them on ILM (asides my own). Maybe ILM will hate them as you have hated The XX and most of the EDM/R&B hybrids from the past two years. Epworth is producing and he is great on this one (he also produced Foster the People and Coldplay's albums this year, so... yeah).

Anyways I'll post some youtubes and let you decide. I've been waiting for them to become more popular all year and for some reason it hasn't happened so maybe they did get late in the game and they wont but anyhow, here's a thread in case they do.

i'm sorry

This sneaked up on me and became one of my faves last year. Imaginative textures and sounds throughout. Def one of the more interesting and thoughtful indie/r&b hybrids I've heard lately as far as proper bands go. I like how they trick you into thinking that something so inorganic should sound so natural.

I have faith they'll do a great follow-up album and ILM will stop ignoring them.

i saw them live recently as a number of my friends are really into them. i found them relatively dull and the vocals are very ugly - i'd place them closer to alt-j than the xx. "Pools" is a nice song though.

I'm about to nom it in the EOY poll. I can handle the vocals on this one, plus it's got a great concept and the immaculate production. Yet ILX is sleeping on it. Sad.

I'm really enjoying the 2016 release. It's laid back, yet spunky and beautiful. I think some reviewers looked at it too closely.
The sum is greater than the parts here, and it's got a lot of moving parts. I see the vocals as just another stylish instrument in the mix.
