Pashmina, Thursday, 26 April 2007 10:26 (sixteen years ago) link

I wanted to make a halloween costume that did that transformers thing one year. But then I realized that dressing up as nothing was a lot easier.

"Object conjuring is a kind of cave diving expedition into hidden worlds of sound - there are sounds that aren't *supposed* to be there, that the manufacturers didn't intend and yet you just strike the object with a stick and you can extrapolate endless sonic possiblities."

I'm happy for those geeks but let's be honest...they're taking themselves too seriously. Props to Twig though

Look at the one on the bottom right; he's screaming "let me go!"

BLASTOCYST, Friday, 27 April 2007 17:16 (sixteen years ago) link

I don't think I'd want to sit through a feature length doc about it, but it's a great 5 minute clip! Maybe it would make a good 1/2 hr doc if they stretched a couple of interviews out a bit. I lolled at the comments along the lines of "this is not representative of tr00 circuit bending", when one of the featured oddballs is reed ghazala! Mainly I liked it b/c it made it look like a lot of fun! (though I'm way too anal & fussy to pull any of my instruments to pieces to try it out) and because it has Cynthia on it, who I've bought stuff off, and who I like loads.
