xp OTM - and also reading stuff like this on FB from otherwise level-headed Germans: "Sund4y is all that matters and semi-f1nal for Germany statist1cally is no achievement"

OK, that bit where two players run in to hold back Mueller, that actually looked rehearsed. Like, training-ground rehearsed. How did Germany become this unlikable?

It's going to be hilarious when Germany loses 1-0 to Argentina with a late Messi goal.

The weirdly chilling part of this is Germany haven't had to be particularly awesome to do it.

If Brazil had stayed at home it would only have been 5-0
― StanM, Tuesday, 8 July 2014 21:43 (nine years ago) link
In terms of transfer fees, how many millions of pounds has this Brazil team cost? And they're just getting run over. I mean, a not-especially-amazing Ghana side at least got a draw out of these. A USA side with Michael sodding Bradley in it nearly did the same. In terms of demolitions, I used to have Spain v Ireland at Euro 2012 as a gold standard, but this... is a completely different planet.
Paulinho. For fuck's sakes. £17million (17/20s of a Lovren) for a man who does not appear to be one-tenth of the player Jermaine Jones is.
