What's even thr point of Brazil going through without Neymar and Thiago tbf? Colombia better team in every aspect to me.
― Raccoon Tanuki, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:12 (nine years ago) link
there's nothing wrong with Brazil really, Germany will probly do them given anything like an even playing field, but Rodriguez has had an exceptional tournament and it's hard to see it finish

if one or two of James' team mates had stepped up they'd probly have won, thought Cuadrado was especially poor tonight

whilst there have been better teams who i wd've prefered to win, eg Chile and Colombia, i'm still not really gettin the full-on Kill Brazil hysteria

― nostormo, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:29 (nine years ago) link
Brazil got through because Chile and Colombia lack big game experience. The defending for the first Colombian goal was atrocious. Ditto Chile. Incredibly ugly goals.
They did control the game, then as soon as they got the 2nd Brazil (great free kick, and the tournament has lacked those) chose to sit back and give possession. All their performances are schizophrenic, to say the least.

I'm rooting for Brazil and Argentina tbh
Pray 4 Neymar
― 龜, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:31 (nine years ago) link
Germany should be heavy faves - lots of experience, lots of big tourney hurt.
No outstanding centre back though - be interesting to see what their 15 mins is like compared to Chile and Colombia. Should be more assured but that crowd can unnerve..
How serious was that foul on Neymar? He's probably not 100% fit by this point but he has to be there. Maybe he can borrow Suarez's wheelchair.
― xyzzzz__, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:33 (nine years ago) link
Knee to the lower back...doesn't sound good..
― nostormo, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:39 (nine years ago) link
Unlovable clogging Brazil team but they were still better than Colombia tonight.
Genuinely no Idea who is going to win dis ting, no one looks super convincing.

Holland the most convincing team I've seen, though I did miss most of the Mexico game

― nostormo, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:54 (nine years ago) link
I figured. They do have van Gaal though, he's a different order from all the other managers.
― Ismael Klata, Friday, 4 July 2014 22:56 (nine years ago) link
if Neymar will be ok, i think Brazil are faves to win, if only because they play at home

idk tbh I was watching it in a big drinking crowd at a party and we were so viciously partisan for Colombia and hhhccchhhhhhaaaaammmmmmmeezszzzszszszzz that the ref couldnt have satisfied us anyway. Colombia that picked and pulled at Uruguay never showed up, Brazil scored their set plays, there's it.
Brazil an affront to Brazil tho obv.

With some willing along I could imagine this to be akin to an impotent person's orgasm, but Deems, I'm glad that even after the fact you stepped up and took responsibility here. The ref was a cunt. It need to be said. By you.

I don't see how Brazil advances past Germany without Neymar or Thiago Silva. That's a tall order.
