who called the 4-4?

willem, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:09 (nine years ago) link

off his knee

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:09 (nine years ago) link

lavezzi has done a lot better than aguero

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:12 (nine years ago) link

I only dabble at soccer fandom, but Enyeama played those last two goals like he's in the bag for Argentina.

Good save from Higuain just now though

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:15 (nine years ago) link

I really hate the Argentina goalie kit

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:16 (nine years ago) link

Lavezzi looked v. dangerous when he came on in the last game too

Number None, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:17 (nine years ago) link

I wouldn't have expected messi to go same side again from second free kick, sure it can look bad not getting near it but if your weight is the wrong way then that's all she wrote

third goal I didn't get a good look at yet

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:18 (nine years ago) link

Don't know why they persisted with Aguero when he's clearly not right.

tsrobodo, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:19 (nine years ago) link

messi seems like a cool guy

k3vin k., Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:19 (nine years ago) link

3rd goal no way the keeper can come for the corner, once it hit dudes knee no chance of a save immo

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:20 (nine years ago) link

I think the worst criticism I've seen of messi that rings true is that he insists on playing as much as possible to cement his place as the greatest ever

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:20 (nine years ago) link

Jim begin seems to have noticed that messi is not tall

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:21 (nine years ago) link

it wasn't that his weight was the wrong way, he was completely on the other side of the goal. There's favouring a direction and then there's just being stupid

Number None, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:21 (nine years ago) link

he's not playing now
xp

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:23 (nine years ago) link

XP eh? missed that.

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:23 (nine years ago) link

from the ball hitting him?

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:23 (nine years ago) link

fuckin hell woeful nonsense from Irish co-commentator, O'Donoghue I think. maradona can't even be compared to messi cos messi scored more in Spain,

fuck that wrist is in bits

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:26 (nine years ago) link

I didn't know that could happen with an arm and a football

StanM, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:27 (nine years ago) link

I think Enyeama is super religious. Which I guess doesn't necessarily mean he can't be a psychopath, but every time I've seen him in Ligue 1 he seems v friendly and unaggressive

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:28 (nine years ago) link

lol yeah

"Maradonna never even got near that"

Number None, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:29 (nine years ago) link

nasty rake on angel there

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:33 (nine years ago) link

is dimichellis in this squad btw

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:34 (nine years ago) link

never mind, he is

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:36 (nine years ago) link

Goddamn Babatunde's arm

Tempted to ask you fellas what the worst soccer injuries have been, if there's a Joe Theismann level one recorded, but not sure I could handle the trauma right now

, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:36 (nine years ago) link

obvious but cool free kick

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:36 (nine years ago) link

I don't think Lavezzi respects the management

Argentina without Messi are very messy

StanM, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:41 (nine years ago) link

blimey, if an england player did that (and they were still in the tournament) Neil Ashton et al would be calling for him to be sent home.

xp

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:42 (nine years ago) link

with all the 'messi decides they will play 433' etc Argentina maybe in a Domenech 2006 situation.

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:44 (nine years ago) link

It's just not Di Maria's day, is it?

StanM, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:44 (nine years ago) link

xp David Busst is the epl-era gold standard for terrible injuries iirc, but I've never dared look it up

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:45 (nine years ago) link

Busst was a bad one. Larsson and Cisse both had horribly snapped legs. There have been fatalities on the pitch - Celtic keeper John Thomson died after taking a knee to the head in the 30s.

Maurice Malpas Holiday Jotter Blues (onimo), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:50 (nine years ago) link

Charlton dude scored btw. LJ will be pleased.

pandemic, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:52 (nine years ago) link

Eduardo's ankle snap was, while not quite Busst levels of squeam, was a bit icky.

ailsa, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:54 (nine years ago) link

it was was

ailsa, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:54 (nine years ago) link

that Cisse one is the worst I've watch live, feel ill just thinking about it tbh

( X '____' )/ (zappi), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:54 (nine years ago) link

Ruben Roja tackle cf that thread I posted above

leave the web boys alone (darraghmac), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 17:56 (nine years ago) link

Goalie was sick at the Bust one iirc. There's also a picture of the groundsman pouring water on where the incident was and it bouncing up red.

Liverpool's Shaqiri bringing it

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 20:07 (nine years ago) link

So the Honduras shirt I'm wearing (£25 from Sports Direct!) may not actually be lucky, then.

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 20:07 (nine years ago) link

Shaqiri does appear to have turned up for this one, which is unfortunate.

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 25 June 2014 20:17 (nine years ago) link

sakho with a nice elbow earlier. Are there any LFC players left in the tournament to assault someone?
