Robin Lefler was played by Ashley Judd. Lefler is also featured in the Star Trek: New Frontier series of novels.
In April 2002, ZENtertainment (a now-defunct Hollywood news source) reported "Ashley Judd was on Letterman the other night to promote her new movie, High Crimes. Dave surprised her with a clip of her appearance on TNG, where she went on a date with Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton). Judd mentioned that she was reprising the role (of Robin Lefler) in Star Trek Nemesis as Wesley's wife." [1] [2]
This was also reported by About Sci-Fi, which added to the report "... Wil Wheaton, however, says he's heard nothing about that. Somehow, I'm not surprised Wesley doesn't know he’s married."
Later on, "Judd's spokesperson denied this cameo appearance." [3]
In August 2002, Wil Wheaton found out, and reported, that his scene had been cut from Star Trek Nemesis. There was no mention (by him) about Judd or Lefler.

Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature;
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your sub-vocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents,
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

Oh Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array;
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

all my favourite tng episodes are in the sixth season. very convenient for dling.

realm of fear - lol barclay
schism - tng xfiles, crew members get abducted and vivisected by hooded aliens from another dimension
chain of command - ninja picard gets tortured by david warner, 'there are four lights!!'
ship in a bottle - professor moriarty rules the enterprise from the holodeck
starship mine - picard IS john mcclane, beats up tuvok
timescape -

that leaves only the groundhog day episode (s05, cause and effect) and the lolcutus 2x episode (no idea what season that was in).

missing a couple of crucial ones imo

remember me (s04) - beverly all alone aboard the enterprise
frame of mind (s06) - is riker in a play? a prisoner? mental?!?!?

also recommended:

yesterday's enterprise (s03) - tasha yar!
future imperfect (s04) - more riker headfuck fun
clues (s04) - i don't remember a *thing* about last night
night terrors (s04) - deanna's lol nightmares
tapestry (s06) - picard has his time over again
parallels (s07) - worf's turn to be headfucked

All good episodes, I'd also include Darmok and The Inner Light from s5, too excellent Picard-centred eps.

Also Sarek from s3 - a pretty uneventful episode for the most part, until two very dramatic and haunting scenes in the last 10 minutes.

Saw TNG S3 ep "The Hunted", about the Enterprise capturing and attempting to return a genetically modified super soldier to his home planet. The scenes where the guy was expertly eluding the crew and giving them the runaround with false clues as he attempted to escape the ship were really well done. Cool to see the Enterprise crew outsmarted on their own turf. Even better for what the writers didn't have the soldier guy do, e.g. take over the bridge and commandeer the whole ship, which has been done to death.

Dan I., Saturday, 2 July 2011 19:39 (twelve years ago) link

watched a couple really good ones tonight, both from season 5. the two parter 'time's arrow' featuring the death of data, time-travel, and mark twain. also 'conundrum' in which the crew of the enterprise have their memories wiped and CHAOS ENSUES incl riker getting busy with both ensign ro and troi as well as worf assuming command lol.

highlights from season 1
'the vortex' - plot in this one is w/e but i found the guest performance endearingly weird
'progress' - seems like they had the kira episodes down from the start whereas some of the other characters aren't that interesting yet. also the throwaway scene where o'brien talks to jake and nog is funny
'duet' - obv

finished season 3, i think season 2 had more good standalone episodes but the story arc stuff starts to take off here. s3 highlights:
"defiant" - riker
"past tense" pt 1&2 - as mentioned in my previous post
"destiny" - best take so far on the federation science vs bajoran religion subtheme
"visionary" - o'brien keeps seeing scenes of disaster from 5 hours in the future and has to prevent them, goofy time travel ep but i thought it was fun & well done
"improbable cause"/"the die is cast" - main story arc, this is where shit really starts to get good

maybe this is one for i love comics but can ian or someone informed speak on those glossy bound photorealistic Star Trek: New Visions?

I was waiting for a record store to open and killed time browsing one of these, owner looked at me strange as I was laughing out loud at how boned out and '96 clip art the thing was. Maybe the creator or licensor was photoshopping himself into the story? It felt very demented with shades of old man lol tubmlr Henry Darger.

been rewatching some voyager before bed this week

there are some pretty messed-up voyager episodes in the later seasons! one in particular has the crew discovering they aren't actually voyager, but a copy that happened after a biomimetic planet encountered the ship. they're happily on their way to the alpha quadrant when everyone's body and the ship itself start breaking down.
