Can I say someone just loaned me "Rock Steady" and I love it? The more pop I listen to the happier I become.

It's weird, out of nowhere they've become my favorite So Cal band. Well, not out of nowhere, but nothing before Rock Steady had really grabbed me.

Gah, clearly I am outnumbered here! Bah! Weird thing is I still have memories of ska-freak friends in 1991 or so talking about how the band was starting to suck now that 'the girl' was taking more lead vocals. Then there's the friend of a friend whose band used to rehearse next door to them around that time -- apparently said friend's band used to make fun of them due to the horrible noises emanating from ND's room.

For awhile part of this song was the outgoing message on my family's answering machine.

Well, I just downloaded this and it is not without its crappy skank rhythm charms. And a nice half-hearted fake almost-ending, too.

"Fun" w/r/t music. What is it, anyway?

It's what happens when I listen to the Squirrels, for one.

seventeen years pass...

I listened to Tragic Kingdom last night for the first time in years, and... y'know, if it was about four songs shorter it'd be near-perfect IMO.
