Mojo otm. 'TP' has "Love TKO," right? Maybe his greatest solo track.

"Let's Take a Shower, a Shower Together": Teddy POX:

Love TKO
If You Don't Know Me By Now
Get Down, Get Funky, Get Loose
Life is a Song Worth Singing
Wake Up Everybody
When Somebody Loves You Back
Close the Door
Come Go With Me (apparently I once called this "the 'Born to Run' of seductive soul")
You're My Choice Tonight (Choose Me) (great movie, too)
Turn Out the Lights

nice list. I'd add Teddy's version of "Don't Leave me This Way" w/the Blue Notes.

Back in Virginia, "GDGFGL" was one of those things that was huge although it was never a single.

When I was a kid, I wore out "GUGDGFGL" like it was nobody's business. It was years before I learned "Close the Door" was the hit side of the single.

I've always had a soft spot for "Hold Me," his duet with Whitney Houston. It's easily my favorite slow song of hers, at least.

I'd like to note some of the good songs he's cut since his accident:

Joy
2 A.M.
Believe In Love
Love 4/2
Voodoo
It Should've Been You

He's been cutting strong material since the 80s, it just always gets overshadowed by the Philly stuff. Which made me just realize that outside of Patti Labelle and the Jacksons, most of the people on that label didn't have much success after leaving.

since i started this thread i've listened to his solo records (the first three + TP, anyway) maybe 309452390539203924564395948395483 times. It has particularly informed by music taste lately.

Can't believe no one mentioned "You Can't Hide from Yourself", "The More I Get, The More I Want", and "If You Know Like I Know". I love Teddy in up-tempo, got-something-to-tell-ya mode.

I just realized his accident involved him crashing his Rolls with a tranny in the car.

^^^amazingly enough, nearly the same thing just happened to Ma$e, arguably the Pendergrass of the late 90s
