No, they rock.

Went and saw them at the start of the year, got in on the door and hung around the band room drinking all their booze. Show went off and I was sick for the next two days. My band had to play a gig and I ended up throwing into a plastic ice-cream bucket between songs. Worth it.

Both MPASIMSAPTY and McLusky DD are awesome albums. 'Undress for Success' was a bit of a letdown, but new album should be good.

Big cheers for soundman Ant Chapman too.

Neither, at this point. They're fun to listen to but that's about it.

And, goddamnit, they stole that drugs/funk band line from Bill Hicks - it's not theirs, they didn't think of it...just had the wit to steal it.

Ok, I've mustered up something nice to say about McClusky. I probably would have liked them in 1994. They would have gone well next to, um, Brendan O'Hare's "rawk" band Macrocosmica...

there.. phew

(PS, is there a big market for Macrocosmica on eBay)

I'd have said Godlike about 18 months ago. Saw em live twice and both times they rocked it, even with a sore throat amongst them. The last couple of singles have been awful and have put me off a bit but I'm totally excited about seeing them at ATP.

I hear a lot of Mclusky in Idles, at least their debut album.

When I saw the band the first time the singer verified that they all liked the band but at least one of the Idles members was a huge fanatic.

the 1975 owe them royalties for "People" imo

The last time mclusky played Bristol (as it stands, the last show) Dev played bass during Chases and was introduced by Damien by saying mclusky were their primary topic of conversation when they both worked in the Golden Lion at the top of Pigsty Hill.

I am down the front in the forthcoming live DVD, for better or worse (probably worse).

Haven't listed to any of this yet, but it would be wrong not to share this treasure trove:

one month passes...

"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions"

I just noticed that the song title is not just a reference to this quote, it's actual pieces of this quote.

Your useless Mclusky fact of the day.
