I've actually seen him live, but was so tired by the end of the show that I had to leave early. It was Quails / Erase Errata / Aislers Set / Atom and His Package / Ted Leo and when Ted Leo came on I was just too tired. Too much pop for my ass.

But yeah. I'm buying the DVD I think ... now in fact .. if not for the content, at least for the cover art. I heart Plexifilm.

is it just straight-up concert footage, or is there other stuff on there? because I dunno, I'd feel kind of silly just watching a filmed concert by someone who I'm going to see in person next week and have seen several times before.

Blending High Definition digital video, 16 mm, miniDV and digital stills, DIRTY OLD TOWN seamlessly cuts between different mediums and shows a powerful live set on a swelteringly hot day at Coney Island, symbol of both An old-fashioned Brooklyn and its recent resurgence. Through interviews, emotive storytelling, lyrics and blistering guitar work, DIRTY OLD TOWN examines Ted Leo's position in the rock world, one of an artist who strives to remain independent while steadily gaining a more mainstream audience.

Sounds like they're trying to go for a more modern Instrument feel, without the large time span.

I want to get it in the hopes that it will push my Ted Leo-like into full-on Ted Leo-love.

Ted Leo may get REALLY boring if you listen to him for long periods of time but I know that if I can just spread that DVD out over 2 or 3 days it will be really good. If I were to equate the boringness of his sound with the richness of cake a dvd of Ted Leo is like a rich choclate cake. You THINK you'd wanna eat the whole thing but after one and a half peices you would start to lose marginal utility from each additional bite.

I agree. That's why I own the Tell Balgeary EP as opposed to the last LP. It gives me my fix. And it was on sale.
