which city for GTA 5?

it's too bad, the last set of dlc cars looked great and (i think) were basically solid 2nd. now, 3rd.

so much of this game is so half-assed; apparently there are "real" stats like weight, acceleration, lateral-g grip, gearing, etc under the hood for all vehicles that determine performance. those have little relationship to the bar graphs shown, let alone any of the text descriptions on the dealer websites.

No I agree. Like some of the car mods are completely useless, I don't just mean they add nothing to the car performance but they're so goddam small changes to the car. Like sideskirts, really does anyone notice these?

My own personal moan about this game is how underpowered you are, even with body armour, against the police. Basically any police battles are immediately over once you sustain 2 or 3 shots.

Having said that, I'll probably be on all night looking for those two final damn pieces of space ship

Zentorno is ugly as shit, but I got one after driving it. Drove like there was a magnet as a hood ornament, traction pretty good. Speed's all right too.

Lot of the variables depend on perception too. I got a Voltic or whatever the electric car is called. With no motor sound, that thing just seemed fast and really fun to drive. Probably isn't much faster compared to the others though.

coupe: exemplar (not even close, this car is insane, making this whole class bullshit)
motorcycle: bati
offroad: sanchez (bifta if you don't like wheelie-ing or getting knocked around)
sports classics: z-type (tho i think this recent update accidentally rolled back an earlier boost to this car? rumors...)
SUV: the new one, huntley

muscle: his take is, if stock, the ruiner; if modded, the dominator, but really the gauntlet in actual races for its stability

sedan: if stock, the fugitive. if modded, schafter

the lol classes:

utility: he says faggio which i don't see how, the golf cart more practically -- and if customs are allowed you can use a sadler pickup which blows the rest away

vans: the bison pickup

there's no pickup class in this game which makes 0 sense; most of the classes make 0 sense tbh

I was hoping the Exemplar wasn't #1 anymore. I'm bored of that car.

I agree with you about the Gauntlet. I'll sacrifice a little speed to stay upright.

The Z-Type is just too silly looking for me. I'm a little bored of my Monroe though.

I like the Bifta for relatively flat, sandy races, but on off-road races with a lot of incline I found it underpowered compared to the Sanchez or even the BF Injection.

I guess I'll grab the Huntley once I have a spot. People never race SUVs though, so no rush. Same with the sedan. I have to get a second apartment before I dip into lower class stuff.

I kind of like the challenge of selecting the right 10 cars. I really miss my Lunar Lander though. :(

this new update might have put me off this a bit, but i can't put a finger on why. doesn't help that the new races are trash.

Judging from the erratic behavior of randoms on regular missions, should be a real hoot.

Reading all these Watch Dogs reviews is making me wish they would hurry up and release GTAV for PCs.

there's a new mission people are farming, "coveted." you start at the top of a hill, pick off a bunch of dudes guarding a shipping container in a small bay, wait for a helicopter to arrive, kill the pilot, use the chopper to carry the container a little ways inland. it takes about 5-10 mins and even tho i don't farm much i must have played it a dozen times.

playing it a couple days ago, i got to the part where the chopper is down, i hop in as the pilot and a couple other guys jump in too. the last guy didn't, and as i was picking up the crate, started shooting at the helicopter. i figured eh, mild trolling, no big deal. 90s later the mission's over.

then i get a message from the shooter: "your a dick". thinking, oh this will be good, i respond: "why". and then he comes back: "you left me".

i didn't have the energy to xbox-type anything more. i guess he really wanted that helicopter ride.

People get weird on that mission, I think from the multiple times they play it in a row.

I still can't pick up shit with a cargobob, so I usually stay back and shoot the bad guys with a sniper. One recent mission, the guys take the container over the hill and the other player still with me on the mountainside shoots me because (I guess) he wanted the Sanchez I was riding.

We had lives to spare, but still. Been hitting that O quit button a lot lately.

I legitimately may have done that mission two hundred times.

My approach to it is to see if I can beat the cargobob to the drop off locker with the sanchez and still have the most kills on my team.

heh i got a little carried away there eh

recently had a race on the route 68 track. after getting knocked around a few times i worked my way back into 2nd. after the last checkpoint i was neck and neck with the leader, who of course turned into me to bump me away from the finish. i innocently countersteered, which sent him spinning. i won, i think the guy came in 4th.

a couple minutes later i get a message: "scumbag". i was a little hurt.

also here's the most annoying thing on earth:

you're in a race lobby. the host flips it to rally. you grumble, but figure eh ok.

you realize that the lobby has an odd number of people, or someone quit during loading.

you're on the start line, in your car, alone. you wonder, how will this work?

after the start countdown, pop, you get a fail screen: "you must have two players to rally" or something. you're kicked out to a random lobby.

Last night I was doing one of the newer, wacky Trials-inspired races. I was the only person who finished the race. :)

The other night, after an hour or so of playing races, I spent a little while in Freemode and got trapped by some guy with a tank, who took glee in killing me, and then immediately rekilling me seconds after every respawn. It was late, and this seemed like a perfect signal to go to bed, so I signed off. Moments later, the guy with the tank messaged me, like, "Hahahaha RAGEQUIT!!!!!", and I felt like replying, you know, I didn't rage quit, but if you want people to play with you you probably shouldn't just bully them and make playing frustrating and not fun, a lesson I learned while in short trousers. But then I realised I would be arguing with a teenager - or, worse, someone as old as myself - and that this would be a self-defeating exchange.

I had a bounty on my head and was hiding out in one of the airport stairwells. This other guy came at me from all angles, and I was doing annoying stuff like shooting my gun in the hallway, getting a wanted level which in turn bring out the police to where the other guy was out waving his gun around.

He finally pauses for a bit and then leaves. I get this message from him that says "I have reported you for exploits." I reply with something like, "Exploits? Go up the stairs and through the door to find my exploit. Go back and commend me now."

That's about how heated it's gotten for me.

I do wonder if there's a different vibe between the two formats, XBL and PSN. Plenty of assholes playing this game on both sides, but in the whole scheme of things, are there any differences in age, income, etc.? Should be interesting to see what happens when it comes out on PS4 later this year.

See, I respect dudes who can multikill me armed with just a gun, or by sniping, or in a way that remains a mystery to me several kills in. Just mashing everyone because you've bought/stolen a tank - and repeatedly killing one dude who never at any point has any chance to defend themselves because you're in a tank - is just assholish.

I'm with you, and I'm so glad that the Hipster update makes 'em at least pay for insurance on everything.

to this day i am most proud of multi-killing dudes from insane distance sniping (mostly by luck).

I forgot to mention this! I sniped a guy on the runway of the LSIA from the roof of the docks over the BugBusters!

Not as bad-ass as your skyscraper scoping, but it was definitely one of those "I never thought this would happen to me, but..." moments.

yep. jobs was borked for a bit just now as well - 12 people joined for a 1-4 mission i was hosting, and it crashed, and after that you couldn't access jobs via the phone or the pause page for a while.

So I checked it out on the web, seems nobody knows. Possible future dlc or just rockstar tease. I checked out the other ufo's and that one above the military base makes a horrific noise when it appears.

And lost the fucking ufo car already, I'm guessing it doesn't come back?

yeah in my completed save, franklin had it in his garage; i flipped to him last night to check out his personal car (the 1.14 update renamed it "Buffalo S") and it was gone :(

I flipped to Trevor recently to something I hadn't seen before, he was riding a moped on the highway with some other guy. For ages Trevor just kept repeating jives at the guy "Scooter Brother, hey Scooter Brother where are we going today?" haha
