t.o.-flakes

mookieproof, Sunday, 8 March 2009 05:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I'll be behind this 100% if Trent Edwards grows a pair of boulders and keeps T.O. in check. Garcia, McNabb and Romo couldn't do it, so more power to him.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 8 March 2009 05:05 (fifteen years ago) link

I basically love TO, and every team he's ever been on has been a playoff team at least for part of his tenure. The fact that it's a small media market will ultimately be very helpful for him and for the team.

as long as t.o. gets a BEAST MODE grill i'm okay with this

Had no idea that he was still suicidal though.

the 'north america's team' thing kinda won me over... something about this entire circumstance is just awesome to me. great move by the bills imo.

boner state university (cankles), Sunday, 8 March 2009 06:52 (fifteen years ago) link

idk canks, does trent edwards really need the distraction of t.o. on top of trying to prove himself as a franchise qb

all right i have marinated on this and i've decided that the season needs to start right now. can we make this happen y/n?

horseshoe it's cool to love t.o. now, i fully endorse the embracing of former hated enemies and have ever since the bulls picked up rodman in '96

"north america's team" is brilliant imo

wow heaven is cool (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 8 March 2009 21:21 (fifteen years ago) link

the more i think about it the more i love this move, mostly because of t.o.'s track record in his first year w/ a team

wow heaven is cool (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 8 March 2009 21:22 (fifteen years ago) link

I still don't like it. Buffalo's fragile enough as it is. :(

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 8 March 2009 21:23 (fifteen years ago) link

buffalo needs difference makers on both sides of the ball... they have a TON of good/solid starters, but not much top shelf talent. T.O. isn't elite anymore, but imo he can only help them at this point

Guess I won't be taking Lee Evans as my standard unprepared sixth-round pick.

•--• --- --- •--• (Pleasant Plains), Monday, 9 March 2009 00:54 (fifteen years ago) link

YOU GUYS I AM SO HAPPY

obv, TO will open things up for Lee Evans AND the backs. For the first time since Moulds/Price, the offense won't live or die based on how good a day WR2 is having. And there will be enough footballs to go around, since Evans wasn't seeing the ball much in triple-coverage anyway.

I'm more concerned about what to make of a diminished TO. Will he be all sadface in a rusted-out nowhere town? Will he constantly be jetting off to Cleveland to party with Ocho Cinco? I have no doubt that the city will welcome him with open arms and all the Labbatt's he can drink. Upside is he will be the beloved monarch of Buffalo, and the only thing approximating big-city press for hundreds of miles will be easily-awed Canadians. He may actually get all the adulation he needs with none of the Terrell-baiting that was like the national sport of Philadelphia.

This is going to be great.

And "North America's Team" is hilarious. I already want the t-shirt.

no, he says it to espn like he always fucking does and makes it a national news story and drama, the way he always fucking does. you guys seriously think that the national media isn't going to follow him there and needle him in buffalo? or that somehow the dallas morning star was the one making t.o.'s batshitness a matter of national security? it's not that hard to get there guys, and it also contradicts y'alls earlier "omg he will bring national press attention to this small market team" so tits or gtfo basically.

sorry to be the spoilsport but i feel sorry for u guize. otm re: this is the shittiest qb situation he's gotten himself into yet -- it will end, probably, in buffalo being burnt to the ground fyi

I think since Dr. Z is gone, King is getting lotsa good info. I always thought he was fluff, but he's had a half dozen good pieces in the past six months.

it's sort of heartbreaking. also the move from war memorial to ralph wilson stadium is the same story as everything that happened in buffalo in the 20th century, fucking over the black community-wise.
