Gametrailers video review:

my brother drove past gamestop today, and they were throwing out some big gta4 cardboard promo boxes. y'know, like they put on display in the window. so he took one. it looks nice next to our games.

Creeztophair, Sunday, 27 April 2008 20:53 (sixteen years ago) link

Ok, this is nuts - I've got another friend who has his copy early and is playing already, which means I can now compare my GTA4 achievments to his though xbox.com, which means I get to see the full list. And mostly it's the same as the one I posted upthread. But at the bottom is:

Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie
Kill a Rockstar developer in a ranked multiplayer match.

Endangered Species - collect every hidden package

hmm, i think i saw a suspicious looking pigeon which might have been part of this (not saying where) - it didn't fly off when I got near. Unfortunately I died just before I could inspect further.

Ste, I'm suffering from self-ban until I get my place painted and fixed up. Two weeks at most. I've never been so motivated!!!

Czn, no. No you are not. I might even buy the temporary one off you when you're done!*

*That is not a promise. Just the ranting of a desperate man!

I, unfortunately, am starting a trial on Thursday. Which means I will not be able to get a good 24 hour gameplay session in until this weekend, if at all, the FOLLOWING weekend. Crap.

B.L.A.M., Tuesday, 29 April 2008 03:35 (fifteen years ago) link

I went to asda on the old kent road at midnight, and I queued for about half an hour with ooh, maybe about 200 other people. Just as I got to the front of the queue, the woman processing the transactions shouted "just four left!" (xbox copies, she meant - PS3 had sold out much earlier). So I guess after me there were just three. Pretty lucky really.

And now it's 5.25am and I've played about 4 hours (maybe 2.5 of single player and 1.5 of multiplayer) and yes, this game is great.

haha JimD that was pretty lucky.

My situation is : day off work today to wait in for telly delivery, game should be with my sister already will pick up later, but have to go back into work at some point to pick up HD cable which should be delivered there today.

awful that i have to wait on all these seperate outcomes.

Favourite radio station so far is The Journey: I drove down to Coney Island (I was there in real life a couple of months ago, and in game it feels exactly the same), and just as I arrived Global Communication's 8.07 came on the radio (which is one of my all time favourites), so I sat in my car and watched the sunrise, and it all felt lovely.

The bits of Vladivostok I've heard have been great too.

tesco across the road sold out within 30mins; woolworth within 1 hr.

Ste - I forgot that as expensive as the ps3 is, sony is still too cheap to throw in an hdmi cable, or even their component cables. considering they are selling the thing specifically based on it's hd output - wow

Holy shit, this game is awesome. As I have a RIDICULOUS amount of work to do this week, I probably won't get to actually do some serious gameplay (put in about 1 hour last night after getting it at midnight), but damnit if its not going to sit there, taunting me.

I will post a report on the scene outside the video game store if I get a chance. Just hilarious.

Pre-ordered the sucker -- gonna go pick it up right now (& let it sit in my car for four hours)! SO STOKED YOU GUYS
